Stassi needs to play everyday for a while, which he won't, with Castro in front of him. He'll be back up later in the year, but I think it's a good move to get him everyday action.

    Keuchel hasn't been "figured out"

when looking at his heat zone - he just hasn't had the command we have become accustomed to from him and he is leaving quite a few dead red.

while I wouldn't be shocked with it being a bit of tired arm from last season, i think the problem is mechanics, release point and a change in motion. I haven't studied it, but I'm sure the team has and is working to correct it. Problem is that his "stuff" isn't overwhelming and without hitting locations, he's a back of rotation pitcher.

If our top three starter are not as good this season....we are dead.

It'd also be nice if two of our "cornerstone" players who bat second and third weren't doing their best Evan Gattis impressions. I almost expect a strikeout from Correa and Springer every at bat.

lol. ready. Just saying it was somehow a lot easier to take yesterday's game (and still have hope) when I expected it to go poorly.

I think Springer has been playing pretty well. Has 14 walks and 12 K's in last 10 games. Also 3 HR's. Batting average needs work but it is a good sign he is being more patient so I think we will see a hot streak from him.

If Correa can start making teams pay for walking Springer we will have 1-3 covered. Disappointed in Correa's "clutchness" so far this year. Last year, he was a machine with men on base. Now he will be lucky to drive them when we need it most. Still early in the season but I am hoping Correa can be clutch again because we need someone to drive in Altuve and Springer if they can get on base. We will obviously need more help behind him but gotta fix the 3 hole first before we have a chance at the playoffs.

Same with Keuchel. If he is not right we really stand no chance of sniffing the playoffs without an ace level pitcher pitching every 5th day. Best case, the rest of the starters including McCullers start off strong while Keuchel gets his head and his arm right but we need that to happen in the next 1-2 starts at the most.

I really don't think Keuchel was 8 runs bad yesterday. I think Boston is just hitting all the mistakes right now.

Perhaps. But when I see us starting to make excuses for a player, it usually means they are in trouble.

That would be something if it was a one off. It's not. He's been terrible this season and it has to be very concerning. Coming off the last 2 seasons and even the dominating spring training...wtf has changed? If he's got a dead arm or something else, I hope he's relaying it to the club. Something ain't right with him and that's very bad for the team.

Hopefully, LMC continues what he started last season and can possibly become our stopper. We don't have one right now.

    Keuchel is having arm issues.

His fastball MPH is down and I think that is attributed to the work load the last two years.

The whole team has been down with MPH excluding Feliz.

Can't be coincidence can it? Do they need to change spring training regiments?

Good thing he didn't sign/accept a multi-year @100M+ deal in the off season. Just more evidence that one great season cant and shouldn't define a player.

To be fair, it's been 2 great seasons. I don't think there was an offer on the table for him this off-season.

This is either mechanical or mental. If he can't make adjustments or get his nutsack back, Astros are screwed with him.
