I want to see some of the Xmen and Fantastic 4 (esp. Torch and the Thing) fighting alongside the Avengers
None of the movies have been exactly like the comics, nor should they be. Do you really just want to see a shot for shot remake of a comic? While it could be fun, they're trying to tell new stories, not just rehash the same old ones.
While I agree with this, Infinity War will need the Silver Surfer/Galactus since they're pivotal to the story. They **** the bed with the F4 movie, idk what they're gonna do.
Unless Marvel Studios gets the rights back for Fantastic 4, or work out a deal like they did with Sony for Spiderman, I think Guardians of the Galaxy will play a big part in Infinity Wars. Fox screwing up big time with F4 could be a blessing in disguise though, but I think Fox will hold on to the bitter end to all the Marvel rights they have.
The comic version was bad. Human Torch is all BRAAAAAH, WHUZ UP - gets a bottle to the head? Reality superhero TV show? Robot Thor for no reason? Punisher goes all Leeeeroyyyyy Jenkins? Concept A+, execution D+.
You mean Fox did. Marvel didn't make any of the Fantastic Four movies. Anyway, as much as I love me some Silver Surfer (and Galactus is a fun villain) they aren't necessary for Infinity War. Thanos already knows about Earth, Asgard, the Avengers, the Guardians, and the Infinity Stones. He can come wreak havoc whenever he likes.
They're going with Thanos. It'd be weird, this late in the game, to swerve the audience and go with a World Eater as the big bad. Comics-wise, it makes sense. But since Thanos has been the big bad thus far, there's no reason to randomly change it now.
So what Marvel characters does Fox have the rights to? Spiderman (but worked out a deal) Fantastic 4 Is Xmen under Fox?
There's a bit of a grey area. The have the rights to x-men and mutants closet associated with them. Because of that, mutants don't exist in the Marvel movies. However they have used 2 characters in Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, who are mutants and strongly associated with the X-Men. They weren't mutants in the movie though, they're powers were created. Quicksilver has been used by both of them. Deadpool is Fox, but most of the second tier characters are up in the air.
Spiderman is Sony actually. This isn't even entirely accurate. Like Universal owns distribution rights to a solo a Hulk movie, so he should be next to Namor. How dare they leave out the Vision, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones! And after Civil War that split in the bottom right is definitely missing the Cap movies.
^^ I've never heard of a few of the characters (power pack, cloak and dagger). Who is Namor and why haven't Universal Pictures done a movie about him?
The Sub-Mariner, basically Marvel's Aqua Man. I didn't know his rights were held by somebody else, I just figured he wasn't interesting enough for Marvel to make a movie about. Apparently they wanted to do a movie back before the Comic Book boom started, but it's been stuck in development. I imagine Marvel could get his rights back fairly cheaply if they really wanted to.
INB4 NBC makes an unbelievably, shameful, god-awful Namor TV show to replace the soon-to-be-cancelled Supergirl. Also we can't be too far from a Blade reboot. I could see that doing well, actually.
Spoiler FYI, Zemo called for the room service which led to the discovery of the fake Bucky mask and dead therapist. It wasn't "convenient", just part of the setup for Tony to realize that Capt wasn't lying.
I don't think Marvel can touch him can they? He's a mutant. Seems like it'd be Fox's property to pull. I guess that character is the most confusing one to pin down.
Supergirl just got renewed! Also, with the state of DC movies (uncertainties, etc), I wouldn't put it past Marvel to do a Namor movie before Aquaman comes out, just to put down DC even further.
