Another former Rockets player turned coach is available. Rodrick Rhodes' high school's athletic association Commissioner said that Cordia's violations under Rhodes "represent what may well be the most wanton and blatant disregard for association rules in its 97-year history." The video report in the news story link is pretty funny... quite a public outcry when two dozen people in Eastern Kentucky show up to voice their concerns about Rhodes' removal. http://www.wymt.com/content/news/Do...moval-as-boys-basketball-coach-378914831.html
whenever i hear his name, all i think about is frustration. We could have gotten damon stoudemire if not for this "Rockets' Future" player.
Haha, I remember reading this.. News was reporting on him being in trouble way back as per wiki, surprised they didn't move faster. Lol, I figured once scandal surfaced he'd be out back in 14'
He had that great dunk on Jordan though.... Lolol, I know what you mean. And it was when Stoudemire was actually good, a real pg for once
Haha, so as long time fans (recalling the Bulls/Rockets game) that's pretty much all I have on him, then I kept hoping he'd be awesome and nope... Lol, I do recall at the time though making him awesome in NBA Live 98. Recreating the folklore of Rhodes. He scored 55 or so points on Jordan... I had the pc version so I was able to patch in Jordan (since they didn't own the rights to use his likeness etc etc). Unfortunately Rhodes didn't live up to the legend of his NBA Live character.
I met him near Phoenix' nightclub in Houston and told him the way he played against Jordan was awesome , he was thrilled to know someone still remember, nice guy really
That's bad ass man. It's cool going up to former players that most 99% of the room won't know. They actually end up wanting to talk to you for 20 minutes about sports. I spoke to Othella Harrington a few years back at the gym.
Yea I think he gave MJ problems one game, then MJ came back and destroyed him. He was a good defender but never developed a shot in the NBA
It wasn't just MJ either, he was ripping the ball from EVERY stud guard right in front of their FACE. It was wild. Best on-the-ball steal artist in Rockets history.
This is what Rudy and Carroll thought when they deemed him untouchable. then he was gone and out of the NBA not long after. I can't remember if he had a big injury or what.
