Now we can dispense with the magical thinking and get on with the long hard work of rebuilding. There are no shortcuts folks; not for Houston. Welcome to the rebuild

I'm glad this notion of Durant coming here is being put to bed tonight. It was dumb for people to think there was a chance for him to come here even before this series.

Durant is going to stay now.

OKC is going to win the Championship and now OKC has won the Harden for Adams trade. Adams is the reason why they beat the Spurs.

OKC have gone to the WCF every year.

4 out of 4 years, they have gone to the WCF.

The 2 years they did not go to the WCF was because Pat Bev dominating defense destroyed OKC.

I mean, Pat Bev literally destroyed Westbrook.

Only thing stopped OKC was Pat Bev and he can't stop OKC this year

That's the narrative that Durant supposedly created himself though.

The whole "If the Thunder don't make the finals he's gone." not like it came out of nowhere.

If they get smashed by the Warriors in 4 or 5 games then what?

Lol.....rebuild, as in sucking for a few years? Far from it. This same team, with minor tweaks and a new coach, wins 45-48 next year. But with significant tweaks? 50+....don't be surprised to see us back at the 4/5 seed next year.

Seriously, if anything this series showed the Spurs arent that good of a team With duncan on the verge of retirement. One team stands in the way of the championship and its the GsW. Rockets hace serious work to do this summer but its as good as time as ever to build a super team.

Came from pxp man Joel Myers. Ha, when's the last time he broke news? And on one of the biggest stars in the game? I guess Stephen A. did vouch for him.

As Daryl Morey would say, we(they) lost to a historically great team. ;)

Putting yourself in the "Final 4" four out of six years, I think you're in contention for a championship. Now yes, you do have to actually get to the Finals and actually win it.

The Thunder winning is just about the best thing for the Rockets. Now they can put the Durant fantasy to rest and target actual possible free agents.

It's about contending not making the playoffs. Keep smoking if you think a few tweaks makes us a contender. It's not hard to make the playoffs in the NBA. I want more.

We'll see. But this narrative changed in a matter of games, that seems to happen a lot in the playoffs.
