    He's repeatedly said he has no interest in coaching again. He says he's not the kind of guy who can do it 40-50 hours a week; for him it takes over his entire life, and not in a good way.

    In case you are not aware, Rudy has been enslavened by the Lakers since he bailed out of his $30 million contract less than 4 months into the first year of the deal. Rather than get involved in a prolonged litigation over his deal which would have involved the Lakers trying to prove he deceived them about his health, they renegotiated his contract into a $10 million settlement and then re-assigned him as a scout for an extended number of years. All the details of that renegotiation were never revealed but I suspect the reassignment as a scout for them was part of the renegotiation with a condition of the deal being he could not work for another team for either a certain period of years or for his lifetime because Rudy has never budged from that position since.

    I personally find it difficult to believe he's actually doing much scouting for them anymore. He may have a cognitive issue. Don't know this for sure. But I did get a tip that this was the case a couple years ago. And was being attributed to the punch.

    I do know this for sure. His coaching days are gone, never to return. But I'm glad to see his name on the board again. Greatest coach in Rockets history. And one of the nicest human beings to ever grace this planet.
