Complete and utter emotional bull crap. Anyone other than Dwight is not a solution dada. You're being stupid. Put together a legit solution instead of emotional overreaction.

He is not an absolute winner but in my book he is not a loser, not per se.

I recall one poster posting about the possibility of Chris Paul coming here years ago

Harden CP3 and Howard (instead of Bosh)

I think that could actually work, esp. Chris Paul setting up Howard for more slams and more pts

Harden can save the energy for the 4th

It is addition by subtraction we are better off bringing this team back and playing TJones at center over Dwight.

Dwight Howard is done, a has been, you don't anchor your team with this loser.

A guy that lead his team to the NBA finals and helped take us to the WCF for the first time in 20 years is a loser. Cool.

I think Dwight stays for 15 mil if we hire the right coach and we get some likeable pieces. This offseason we should go after some playmakers. In the Hou vs Por series we had Parsons and Lin who could create for Dwight and now we only have one legit playmaker in Harden. This offseason we should look at Rajon Rondo. Though he may not be a popular choice he can create for others and himself. Also, if we retain Josh Smith I guarantee that he will probably be recruiting Rondo since they are close friends.

Dwight is going through the same career trajectory as Amare Stoudemire. Once athletic big men lose their mojo, it's done. They will never be same players again. Dwight can't score nor defend, he's practically useless on both sides of the court. I won't keep him even for free because he hinders progress of young center on our team by stealing their minutes.

There is no way he comes back. The Rockets won't sign him to a big long-term contract, he wants a big long-term contract, and he can get a big long-term contract.

As the cap increases in the next few years 15 mil per year for Dwight would be a steal especially when you have guys like Parsons probably making more than 15m/year but are consistently injured.

I don't want Dwight anywhere near this team next season. It's nothing personal against the guy. I just don't think he's a very effective player anymore(at least given his salary). Yes, he puts up good numbers, but his inside game is weak, he still can't hit free throws, and now his defense is slipping as age and injuries have caught up with him.

I'd much rather spend that money elsewhere.

Other star players in the NBA don't seem to get along with Dwight. Even guys you might have thought would have had his back - like a JJ Reddick - have come out and said some not so nice things about him.

Why would we want to bring tha back?

Yeah when he was 22 and an athletic beast, he is not that guy anymore and thinks he is.....the guy has had 11 years in the NBA and has not gotten one bit better.

I know it is hard to swallow, but there is no amount of money in which you bring this cancerous man back. When you are a leader of an org or team, you have to cut talent sometimes for the better of the whole.....this is one of those cases.

That was clearly a dig at BBallHolic's belief that TJones is horrible - he isn't he just doesn't fit here.

nope. if a young center truly shows that he is ready, he earns more time by showing he is capable of contributing at that level. And anyone that as really followed the team this year, can see capella is still very much not ready and is still in the spot minutes stage. thinking that capella isn't developing bc howard is here just incorrect. If Capella reaches that stage where he is ready for a bigger role then it would stand out but that has nothing to do with Howard hindering some progress

It would be nice if progress = playing time was true... But the NBA is littered with cases where it wasn't. Jermaine Oneal comes to mind immediately. Or the reverse... Which we saw with Brewer this year. Opposite of progress yet coach kept playing him.

The truth is that Dwight on the team does hinder the progress of Capela. It just does at this point.

I don't want him back simply because him and James do not mesh well on the court. Their games have never been a good match for each other.

I don't think it hinders it. Capela is still very much in the learning stages and that would be true whether Dwight is here or not. Throwing Capela out on the floor for 30+ minutes every night doesn't mean development especially when he isn't capable of being out there for a full load and contributing.
