Not bad I guess...If we go small sort of getting the band back together.. Howard opts out for better contract/ Capella/ If not Howard give me Al Jefferson Beasley- Harrell Parsons- draft pick- Decker Harden- Mcdaniels Conley- Bev Head Coach- Some one with balls that checks Hero ball to a limit.
I haven't watched DeRozen a whole lot, but I think of him more as a poor man's substitute for Harden rather than a complement to Harden. Great offense, bad defense, lots of free throws - but DeRozen would not be effective spotting up.
He's a solid offensive player but nothing special, horrible shot selection, not a good three point shooter
If we can get rid of Ariza and Brewer.. then sign Conley, Batum and Horford. Resign DMO for cheap. Conley Harden Batum Beasley Horford Capela Bev KJ Harrell Goudelock DMO looks like roster that could compete.
I like that roster. But you'd have to start Dmo and bring Beasley off the bench. Who's creating offense with Bev, KJ, Dmo, Capela as your 2nd unit?
As an RFA, how much would they Rockets have to pay Crabbe to the point that the Blazers would not match?
Not sure, but the Blazers will have a ton of cap space, so you'll probably need to overpay to have a chance...
What is worse is that the Spurs are going to be very aggressive too. So Conley or Horford could be gone too.
They'll have to sign a center, all indications seems to point at Pau...Horford fits too, but i'm not sure he's ok playing the center -> same for LMA. Pau will also be cheaper than Horford, so maybe they'll use the difference to sign someone else for the bench...if Manu is goin to retire they'll need to sign a couple of bench players too...
**Salaries based off of what the player used to have last year or I guessed **Got my data from Spotrac **Idea #1 Lose: Dwight Howard, Terrence Jones, D-Mo, Josh Smith Gain: Al Horford (3yr/$12mil), Mike Conley (3yr/$9,588,426), Hassan Whiteside (4yr/$10mil) PG: Mike Conley, Patrick Bev SG: James Harden, Corey Brewer, KJ McDaniels SF: Trevor Ariza, Michael Beasley, Sam Dekker PF: Al Horford, Montrezl Harrell C: Hassan Whiteside, Clint Capela Then use remaining cap space to either beef up our bench or do nothing. I feel like this could create a great balance of offense and defense with Horford/Whiteside taking care of the paint, Conley/Harden taking care of the perimeter, and Ariza acting as a hybrid working the outside and inside, whatevers needed. We can't get rid of Ariza and Brewer as releasing or trading them wouldn't clear up cap space because the dead cap..so might as well keep them and get some use out of them.
Brian Geltzeiler: Solomon Hill Nic Batum Ryan Anderson Kent Bazemore Marvin Williams Allen Crabbe They need a legit stretch four Star chasing is not the right way to go No sexy names Harden is not the kind of star you can put other stars with (Howard) You want the dog to guard the house, you gotta feed him. That's not in Harden's nature. Rockets expecting him to change his style of play is naive. The job is not the attractive job it once was. The McHale incident reverberates in the coaching community. He was fired 11 games in at the players behest. The Rockets made it clear that player will have some kind of say in the process. If you're a coach with other choices, think about it: Joerger jumped into the Sacramento job and didn't want to talk to Houston. ... It tells you where the perception of the program has sunk. I still think Jeff is the guy. Jeff & Daryl will work well together. He'll modernize his offense. Old school defense. Harden will thrive. He loves Harden as a player. He'll tell James things he doesn't want to hear and that's what James need. Still think it'll be Van Gundy and that's why it's taking so slowly. Kenny Smith would be a disaster.
