Never seen a dog with a hoof.

Problem is he's got bad judgement butchering that outside his restaurant.

Even if that's exactly what he was doing, why is it a big deal at all?

It's not being done in a 3rd world s'it hole or the backwoods, it's the middle of civilization and in public. It's culturally out of bounds...

Right... If meat being out in the open offends people, those people need a reality check. Theyd be really surprised at the "cleanliness" of a slaughterhouse/butchershop. Just cause your chicken or beef comes in a pretty plastic package at the grocery store, doesnt mean it hasnt been through some of the most disgusting and vile places.

I believe the owner, for the simple reason being Sushi restaurants dont butcher meat, they usually just slice fish and have bulk meat they slice for stir frys and such. If he were to butcher the hog inside, it would have splattered everywhere, contaminating everything else. So, yeah I believe him but still stupid for him to do it outside of his restaurant without setting up a table at least.

Back alley to table > farm to table.

I'm sure the property owner is saying "boy, this ought to be great for all the other tenants on my property. Yay!"

it'd be worse if he did this inside the kitchen

I'm glad he had the sense to do this outside so it doesn't contaminate everything

    Third world ****hole.

    Nice.

Must be hard to be as old as you are and have such a parochial worldview.

    Exactly.

I'll tell you guys a true story, even though no one will believe it.

I once saw two guys being brought by police into a hospital after a knife fight. Both guys had multiple stab wounds to the arms and one to his head. Real kung fu stuff, according to the cops. Fighting with butcher knives and filet knives. Luckily, they weren't hurt that bad. Apparently, they refused to cooperate, and one may or may not have been legal (the place had shady rumors around it already).

Get this - the cops walked in, find these guys bloody, blood spattered all over the kitchen, on food, etc. THEY WERE STILL COOKING.

This kind of stuff happens. They got shut down for a few weeks for that one. I'll never go back again, though, and I'll tell anyone and everyone the story if they're thinking of eating there. (Not in Houston, don't worry)

Moral of the story - it could be a lot worse. The guy could have butchered the pig in the restaurant and contaminated everything and served that contamination to unknowing customers. Yeah, he picked a horrible place to do his handiwork, but I DO believe him. I'm almost positive I see hooves. Or a hoof.

got to love how the facebook guy watermarked his crappy photos with the lamest watermark ever LOL. just shows you that all he really cared for was to go viral online. what a douche. most people would be vegans if they saw what really went on to get that meat on your plate.

It can only be a matter of time before Yelp puts back alley butchering on their list of restaurant features. Yum!

So even if he wasn't serving it, he had to store it somewhere inside the restaurant right?
