Thiel jumped the shark mentally some time ago, seems to me. His foundation in SF is full-on WTF.

Why won't Trump release his tax returns? What is he hiding?
First time since 1976 someone has failed to do so.

For those thinking Trump is going to run as a social moderate.

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...-scotus-nominee-overturn-roe-v-wade/84223512/

Trump: My SCOTUS nominee may try to overturn Roe v. Wade

Donald Trump on Tuesday began to outline his vision for a Supreme Court nominee, saying he wants someone who is an abortion rights opponent.

"Trump says he's pro-life. Please ask him to name one specific thing he would do to protect the sanctity of human life — can you?” Fox News host Bill O’Reilly asked (via a viewer question) the presumptive GOP nominee on The O'Reilly Factor, which aired Tuesday night.

“I will protect it. And the biggest way you can protect it is through the Supreme Court and putting people on the court. I mean actually the biggest way you can protect it, I guess, is by electing me president,” Trump said.

“So you’re going to get a judge who would overthrow, overturn Roe v. Wade that’s the specific thing you’re going to do?” O’Reilly asked.

“Well overturn or overturn, look I’m going to put conservative judges on,” Trump said.

    O’Reilly attempted to clarify further.

“Your specific thing to protect the sanctity of life would be appointing a Supreme Court justice that would overturn Roe v. Wade, do I have it?” O’Reilly asked.

“Well, they’ll be pro-life and we’ll see about overturning,” Trump said."I will appoint judges that will be pro-life."

Trump has repeatedly said he would appoint conservatives to the court, but largely hasn't elaborated on the details.

On Monday, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said that the presumptive nominee may have more luck uniting the party if he’s able to give more details about who he would pick for the court, including a list of five to 10 names he’s considering.

Shortly after the interview aired, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, which has endorsed former likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, fired out a response.

“Women can’t trust Donald Trump. Donald Trump goes on sexist rants that demean and disrespect women, and backs it up with a policy agenda that is dangerous and ignores the very real issues women face in this country,” Dawn Laguens, executive Vice President of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund said in a statement. “There is so much at stake for women and their access to reproductive health and rights in this election, and all Trump is doing is promising to take us backwards.”

    Months ago:
Clinton: Nothing in speeches, will release when everyone else does.

Now no one in the race has made any.

Interviewer: Why not release speeches now?
Clinton: WellI've released 30 years of tax returns, Trump won't.
Interviewer: So you will release speeches if Trump releases tax returns?
Clinton: NOO. We have to compare apples to apples here.

    WTF

He's gotten a little mealy-mouthed. He should say, I will nominate a SCJ that will overturn Roe v Wade. He's already lost the woman vote, so I don't see how he'll get any worse on that score.

Understand the long-standing tax return expectation, and this thread is about Trump. I would assume it shows a lot of loophole exploitation. Why wouldn't it? Not a crime, but a terrible look for a presidential candidate. It wouldn't stick though, and he should release them.

Not sure why people are comparing HRC on speeches and BENGHAZI! in a Trump thread about tax returns. Pretty odd. Go talk about that in a Hillary thread.

    Trump should release his returns.

with Trump it's just as likely the returns don't show the income to keep up with the illusion of grandeur. Or enough loopholes. He's just that weird.

Always surprises me when candidates drag out/refuse the tax returns. It's such an obvious ask. And not too difficult to have 2-3 yrs of squeaky clean returns ready if you're making a run. A reasonable rate of tax, no odd deductions and plenty of donations to the right charities.

^Oh don't worry. Some serious **** will come out about trump.

The effect it will have? More supporters. That's whAt drives them.. The worse he clearly is, the more fervently they support him. This remind s me of "none of the above" from Brewster's Millions.

If you give a speech to Wall Street in exchange for money, it's going to be pro-Wall Street. I mean, wtf, what do people want to see her speech for???

How does that connect to Trump and his taxes? Every politician releases their taxes. No politician ever releases their private speeches.

There is no need for Hillary to release her speech transcripts. We know exactly what they entail: whatever Goldman Sachs wants to hear.

Is there a law that says candidates have to release their tax returns? BTW, we know that every loophole in the book is going to be on his tax returns.

He shouldn't have a fear to release them. If he was stashing money in foreign accounts, his supporters would just say "he has to do this because of that damn conmunist Obama!!!"

My poor country. When we get the choice between Hillary and Trump. That's like have to choose between being kicked in the sack or kneed in the sack. Not much difference. Country can handle 4 years of either one of those idiots. But the generation of more of their SCOTUS appointments could be the end.
