Irrational policy based on Christian beliefs (what I can animus) has to be destroyed in all its forms. That's the lifeblood of a constitutional republic with a secular mandate. I don't even think America was 100% perfect on that, but it comes closer than most. It looks like a court system that does not consider religion evidence, it looks like a country that would elect an athiest president, it looks like the repudiation of moral shaming in the form of different laws. A strong defense against Christianity and its inherent weaknesses is an even stronger defense against Islam.
This part alone shows a lot of ignorance. fchowd is someone who has decided to leave Islam. As a result of that, hundreds of millions of Muslims in the world - and enough in the USA - think he deserves to be killed. And make no mistake, there ARE people who would act on that. Ask Ayaan Hirsi-Ali. And you call that "has this weird thing where Islam like stole his wife or something"? You don't think that he has every right to be critical of Islam, if for nothing else, then because hundreds of millions of its followers think that his decision to leave the religion is enough reason to kill him? He is applying the same standard of thought to Islam and Christianity. I left the Catholic church in Germany 15 years ago. Nobody in their right mind thinks I should be killed because of that. Standard of thought: One should be free to believe or not believe in a religion. Equally applied to Islam and Christianity. Outcome: Very different.
I don't see how either side is wrong either. One side is saying we concerned and worried about the views and attitudes of many Muslims, and the other side is agreeing but also saying we have to be careful not to stereotype. Who is the apologist? Who is saying that it's ok to have the beliefs? Even Ben Affleck (whom I don't respect for the record) is saying that we all strong disagree with these attitudes. He's not saying it's ok. So how does this make him an apologist?
New Yorker, what happened to the "deal" that you would not post in my threads? I mean...you just suggested that...yesterday.
Having groups living in your neighborhood deciding one day to just snap in a coordinated and organized way is a pretty big deal. There are a lot of good Muslim people that face the brunt of these actions. What happens to Canada if there were two San Bernardino style incidents of "well integrated"families? To put this in another perspective for you, have you considered how Canada could respond to an EU like situation? Some dude in Munich started murdering people at a train stop I've seen before. Maybe abstract is too broad a word. The fear and anxiety in that context is real.
I was 2 blocks away when a mass shooting was going on in a CEGEP, it's not only Muslims who snap, organize, and kill a whole bunch of people. Canada, to my knowledge, hasn't fallen apart. If I don't know how Canada would respond, I don't think anybody else in this thread should make any guarantees. Until they've stepped into the country.
So the f**k what? He's safe and secure in America now isn't he, as he always claims? Maybe he should fight both crazies now that he's safe. We all have death hanging on us for an irrational reason, doesn't mean I spend all of my time on a forum f**king making generalizations instead of doing something about it. Jesus, want to take it personal? I'll tell you why they're the same to me though: because I have a thing for androgyny, I'm despised by both and probably want to be killed by the Ugandan Christians and ISIS. For no good reason. I'm glad a secular republic has declawed the Christian crazies, but I won't forget that only a few decades ago, people were mass tortured and lobotomized and put into mental institutions for having the same tastes as I do. Yeah and ATW--for every time you hinted at my sexuality as if it would be an insult--f**k you from the bottom of my heart. But not literally, of course I've never seen you give a s**t about LGBT people beyond using them as pawns in your discourse and the butt of your dumbass jokes. All you do is complain about problems, you never for once have stepped into a substantiative debate on this topic that would help anybody who is LGBT. And I would say the same for ANY group of people. Period. You have no solutions for anything. Ever. Standard of thought: nobody should believe in irrational religious animus. And nobody should defend it. This is not a relative argument. It is an absolute bad. Equally applied to Christianity, Islam, Spaghetti Monster, Mormons, whatever the f**k. There is no personal relationship with a deity that is healthy when applied on a societal basis. Period.
It has been obvious that you lean that way, but there is nothing wrong with that, Northside. (Hundreds of millions of Muslims (yes, they think you deserve death) and admittedly fundamentalist Christians (but they would at least not want to kill you) disagree with me on that.)
Yeah, and you snidely saying s**t on the side about it won't change that. Guess what? I know that about the whole death part. LOL. I'm not a f**king idiot. You're the one who brought up this whole "fchowd is sensitive to Muslims because they want to kill him"--LOL. I don't even bump with that Muslim s**t and they have like 7 reasons to kill me. It doesn't mean I condone mistreatment or discrimination, or broad generalizations. It doesn't mean I condone human rights abuses against Muslims. And no, quite a few fundamentalist Christians want me dead as well: You don't see me trying to get people to torture harder for it. Like I said, fighting for strong secular republics is the bigger existential threat for me. It's the only logical path to keeping all of the crazies out.
Anyone have any statistics, possible a pew poll to back this up. Would like to see a comparison of how many Christians want ****Storm dead vs Muslims. The Westboro Baptist church has about 15 members who are on the news quite a bit. So far it is Millions vs 15. What are your crimes Canadian? We need to see which religious laws you have broken.
Ask and ye shall receive: http://www.pewglobal.org/2013/06/04/the-global-divide-on-homosexuality/ Note among the lowest countries where 90%+ of the population say homosexuality should not be accepted: if you want to talk about terrible attitudes in other countries, talk about them objectively. fruits of the same poisonous tree.
Reading your posts, I really see you struggle when you try to use other people's stories as some kind of shield from your bad reasoning.
If you are against Islam for the reason of these rules that discriminate.....well there are similar rules to that in other religions. You can basically come out right and say you would like to see Islam abolished..... since they dont allow you to tip toe in and out of the rules like other religions let you, am i right?
