Yeap, might as well. It would make great TV to see the Thunder crush the Spurs, Warriors and Cavs! Sure, Durant wouldn't ever leave OKC after, much less to come to H-Town but it would make watching the playoffs awesome!
Spurs are looking oooooold...... Not blowout games, mind you, but still. OKC just seems a step quicker. Turned it over 5,123 times in the game and still won. Still rooting for the Spurs, but I'm pissing into the wind here.
He could break down anytime and plays no D. Not sure if that is who we need. I'd rather go with super role players around Harden
Sign Durant. Trade Ariza, Brewer, Bev, and Dwight for Westbrook, Adams, and Kanter. Do it Morey. Right now. Today.
Yeah, it is looking that way. We don't know all of Durant's motivations in terms of what he will use to make his decision, BUT getting destroyed by the Spurs sure would have helped. At worst right now the Thunder played the Spurs tough and that might just enough in his mind to want to stick it out another year in OKC at the minimum. I still think Durant will take the FA visits from teams. Everyone will do their pitch. All along I was hopeful that the Rockets would be able to get Durant and another max FA and then use summer 2017 (and the 20+ million the cap will rise to), to add quality role players. Now, the Rockets might have to flip the script. Get some quality role players in 2016 (or rent cap space) and use 2017 to see if they can make a run at Durant then. And by then, the Rockets team will have had a full year under the new coach and role players to gel and have a more solid foundation.
Looking more and more like Durant stays. We need to go after Conley, Horford, or Whiteside and do so quickly.
if OKC beats SAS and loses badly to GSW, I think Durant will leave. But if it's close, then he might just stay.
I've been optimistic on the Durant front but with how they are playing now that 1+ deal seems likely. Still have no idea how he feels, maybe if they do get past the Spurs and the Warriors lay a smacking on them he'll still be upset enough about it to leave.
I honestly feel like with what OKC has done right now is enough to convince Durant to stay and give it another go. The only thing I could see to change that, is 2 blowout losses and Durant getting frustrated at Westbrook if he is the cause of the disfunction leading to those losses. In that case Durant would wonder if there is a good path forward there. I dont see that scenario likely at this point. I wish I did.
Another chance we have is if KD and Wes already talked about this and Wes said to him something like "let's try to win it now and then we're both free, i want to have my team in the future (aka i'm out next yeat -> or this summer if you leave)"... Anyway yeah, i expected a Spurs blowout like 4-1 or 4-2 at best...i did not expect the Thunder ahead after 5 games, but i think this has a lot to do with Duncan...
Duncan being a non-factor. Spurs guards slowing down big time. And quite frankly OKC just not making a ton of mistakes. I am sure SAS expected Westbrook to have a couple of Westbrook poor shooting/turnover games and that hasn't been the case. And Kanter/Adams are owning the low post.
I think we have identified everything that could go right for OKC and everything that could go wrong for SAS.
Yeah lol. In fact there are also a couple of very bad calls by the refs which costed probably one or two games to the Spurs...
