**** Fields. They don't have to use his sorry ass. They've dug themselves too big of a hole to put gas cans in there when they are trying to win.

    Marisnick would have caught it.

Not true. Just looking at the past week... we won 7-1, 5-1, 6-3, 16-4, and lost 6-2 and 6-3.

None of those games coincide with your statement.

Until Luhnow makes some changes personnel wise, this is what we are going to get. A very bad team at worst, and a .500 team at best.
Gomez, etc. have to be removed now, before it gets too late.

An absolutely awesome play would have got it, yes

Not putting Fields in would have been the correct answer

But could he have created more than 2 runs to begin with? The 4th run doesn't matter when you can't score one. Go get 'em manana.

I'm sorry but Luhnow's roster construction has been a complete botch. We have so many glaring holes on this roster.

Trading the fruits of our reconstructive years for a cost-controlled DH, RHP, and OF is terribly laughable. Stop worrying about how cost-controlled players are. If you're going to get hosed in trades, at least acquire studs to fill the holes in this roster. Get Chapman. Get LuCroy. Jesus.

I get that we have to be cost-conscious to a degree, but this is still the 3rd largest city in America. I'm so sick of being told this is a middle market team. This is a middle market team because we don't spend.

Ok use Fields as a starter then

As long as Marisnick is in CF

Fields will win the Cy Young

    Right dumb ass

Maybe, but it doesn't coincide with what you said.

Sometimes, we don't hit or pitch well. Sometimes we pitch well and hit well.

    Agreed

I wish this years free agent class wasnt so weak otherwise i would agree with you. I have a bad feeling they will force jim crane to spend this year in a weak market.

Its the 10th biggest media market... and they have an owner who went into serious debt to by a team with an inflated value due to a now defunct TV deal... and in effect, the Astros missed out on the big-time TV money that would normally be available for the 10th best media market.

Add to that the paltry attendance that has yet to fully rebound, and you most definitely have a mid-market team.

They still earn top 10 TV money (annually) in the league.

Feliz seems to be in a better groove lately. He would have been a better choice then Fields. Hope Fields is gone when McCullers comes back.

We have the ability to spend more than we currently do... just saying HOU's metro population isn't reflective of its population within the actual city limits.

4th largest city sounds great, but we fall to 10th metro-wise.

Cities like MIA, SF, and BOS are actually very small comparatively.. but their massive metro catapult them.
