Astros' hitters anticipate BBs much more than anyone they've played. When they assume Ball 4, throw their bats, and start walking to first. Umps don't like that... not saying umps are right, but they don't like it. Since the 3rd inning (when I started watching), umps have been fair, both sides.
Devenski has been a good starter for the team in his first 3 starts. The team just sucks at the plate when he starts. Unfortunate.
I like Luhnow, has a keen eye in the draft process, but he gets railed in trades, and the whole HR or K thing is not conducive to good offense. Sure, you can have a couple of those players, but not an entire lineup. Season is lost if multiple players go in a funk for an extended period
The team's approach to hitting this year has been god awful. Don't know who that ultimately lies on but it is a fact.
