Funny thing, I just read through it a little yesterday, felt the same way. People where picking everything apart. In my mind Im thinking this is just a good show not much to complain about until I come on here, lol.
Lol exactly my thoughts... Geez I would hate being around y'all, seems like y'all are constantly unhappy.
This movie was beyond fantastic. It crushed the ball out of the park. What I liked the most of al was how it forces these super powered people to examine the consequences of their actions along with the collateral damage those actions create. It's basically the same premise in B vs. S but presented in a far better manner by the Russos. This wasn't a superhero movie but rather a movie whose chief characters just so happen to possess super powers. And that's what made this film so great.
I think the more the merrier. I understand the impact of having as many of them as possible in the airport scene when the 2 sides are running towards each other, but in the back of my head I can't stop thinking why Hawkeye (a ranged weapon guy) is going close for a hand-to-hand combat. But the scene is still frigging badass. As for Avengers 3, I agree. It was a Cap movie except for whenever Tony Stark is in the scene. He steals every scene IMO. Probably RDJ's best showing in the Marvel movies.
Who does not like Spidey hog and Ant man is a pretender. Those are comical and are flawed as anyone on the streets
This was basically the same movie as bvs lol it was definitely paced better but the ending fell flat for me where as bvs didn't. After seeing this, I just don't understand all the hate for bvs. I liked this and thought it was one of the better marvel movies, I just liked bvs better. Spiderman and black panther were incredible. Marvel knocked it out the park with those castings.
The ending was much better than bvs. BvS had a rather ridiculous reason for them going from blood rivals to besties. Then they had a convinient indestructible monster bring them a nice good triumphs conclusion. Civil War didn't take the easy route. Cap v Iron man was the climactic battle. And the reasoning behind everybody's actions were clear and understandable. Somebody was gonna come out a loser. And they managed to work in the signature marvel quips.
BVS had virtually no plot and made no sense whatsoever. When people , make comments like this I wonder what it is they don't get that everyone else seems to understand? And I think that it's probably that you don't understand or didn't pay attention to the plot so for you it's boiled down to superheroes fighting each other. That Superman movie was horrible and so was BVS neither made much sense at all. You can watch BVS several times (painfully) and still come away asking yourself What the hell did I just watch? Civil War was not only logical, backed with great acting but it was also fun where BVS felt like a chore.
lol what? they are LITERALLY the same movie. Spoiler Metropolis destruction/Sokovia destruction A hero who wants another hero/ group of heroes to be held responsible for their actions a government who wants oversight a bombing of a senate hearing/bombing of a UN meeting a mastermind manipulating a fight between 2 heroes the only thing zemo did differently than lex was kill the 'monsters' instead of unleashing them Batman: im not gonna kill you bc of my mom Tony: im gonna kill you bc of my mom lol come on What exactly did civil war accomplish and bvs didnt that i missed? again, i liked both of these movies.
Two big differences. In Civil War, the conflict was believable. Zach Snyder did not direct Civil War.
Spoiler you could say the same thing about tony conveniently finding the evidence about zemo which sends him to help cap and bucky. without that there's no fight. It's the same as doomsday, something needed to bring them all together. The ending fell flat on me bc when the stakes got real, and i loved what the russos did there, bucky should've been killed off. That would've changed things forever. Do they really need bucky in the marvel universe? lol he couldn't have been sacrificed to make this one of the best superhero movies ever? They changed the dynamic between the avengers and superheroes and the world as far as making it feel more grounded i guess. Like there are real consequences but the ending just didnt hit for me. bvs killed off superman and brought out a need for the justice league. It introduced the DC universe. Both these movies accomplished what they wanted to. I just think bvs did it better.
We can agree to disagree on the first one but yeah, snyder is not the russos. CW was definitely a better movie pace wise. Never hit a lull for me where bvs was sergio lulling the first hour and a half.
I never saw bvs but I don't see how the ending of CW could have fallen flat,it was pretty intense, dramatic, and there was a real emotional feel especially for a superhero movie. As a non bias and noncomic book fan, the Mrs even mentioned how bothered she was by the ending from an emotional aspect and we had a mini debate on which side to take...which is embarrassing to admit actually
"Unhappy"? I assume you post in the GARM, too? I'd swear many posters have some form of mental illness. Or Aspberger's (not to make fun of it, I've known people with it). Or something. I want excellence, too, but some of the minutiae that gets nit-picked in everything..... That said, the show is doing a pretty decent job (notwithstanding the over-doing of Ramsey Bolton's horrific-ness so we cheer that much more when he gets his comeuppance).
I for one am glad that all of them are in this film and their intros handled nicely. The audiences in my showing clapped for each one of their intros. I'd be mad if Tony just sends Cap an email with video attachments to play their trailers (hint, hint). Also glad that... Spoiler Marvel didn't feel the need to add more Quicksilver/Coulson type casualties. They're superheroes, they shouldn't always die. I'm also glad they didn't just kill someone just to kill someone like BvS did with Superman only to do a fake out and hint in the end that he's really alive.
I actually didn't love the ending either. Spoiler Things are fixed with a bro-letter or what? Then Winter Solider was all - ICE ME UP, SCOTTIE.
Spoiler That's actually one of the things that made it better. Zemo was clearly orchestrating the whole thing, so that he got Cap and Iron Man in that room to watch that film. It wasn't convenient, it was planned. Zemo accomplished exactly what he wanted. I still don't have any f**king clue what Lex was doing in BvS. Superman dying would have had more resonance if we didn't know he was still alive. It just felt like a lame narrative device that fell flat. Plus it got all the heat off Superman because he "died" protecting the planet so he must be a good guy. At the end of Civil War, you legitimately felt awful for Tony Stark. And yes they will patch it up for the greater good, but I don't think this will simply be forgotten in the next Avengers movie.
I think the next death would be Hawkeye. He's not super, just really good with a bow & arrow. His death wouldn't be missed. I also wouldn't mind if Black Window and Nick Fury goes... or any of the two pretty girl agents. I thought Cap was gonna die at some point and be replaced by Bucky donning the Cap suit. Isn't that how it goes in the comics? Is it too late now since we're already in phase 3 of the Marvel movies? I assume there are only 3 phases.
Spoiler Things weren't fixed. Initial anger over...but the Avengers are still divided. I think it would make a better story if IM never uses the phone, but Friday has to tell someone else about it when help is needed.
