Spoiler I may be wrong but I thought general Ross in the future is supposed to be the Red Hulk. And the actor from the Hobbit is supposed to be a major character in Black Panther's movie. In the comics, he's like the "comic relief" character to Black Panther.
Actually, Stark explains that Pepper and him broke up because he can't quit being Iron Man -- he told that to Cap when he showed him the two pens and tried to get him to sign the Accords.
In the comics, yes he becomes Red Hulk. I don't think that's really on the Marvel road map for now. Especially with Hulk being somewhere in Asgard (presumably since he's going to be in Ragnarok), and Infinity War coming down the pipe. As for Martin Freeman, yeah he's almost guaranteed to show up in Black Panther.
I still have a difficult time seeing Don Cheadle as War Machine. Terrence Howard was such a perfect fit to be the badass that is War Machine.
Those two, Vision, and Ant-Man didn't really need to be in this film. It's just an overload of Marvel characters. This film really should've just been called Avengers 3 - Civil War Spoiler (even though there were zero notable casualties whatsoever).
Yeah I mean they glossed over it, but that relationship was 4 films in the making. Plus its dissolution obviously had some effects on Tony's mental/emotional state. That wasn't really explored because again this was a Captain America movie, not Iron Man or even Avengers. I read something from the writers about how they wanted to make sure the story to come across from Cap's POV, as a way to ensure this was a Cap movie moreso than Avengers 2.5
I had that exact same thought with Hawkeye. Wtf is he doing in the middle of the pack running into battle at the airport fight? He should be taking a few steps back and looking for a high ground or tower where he can camp and shoot arrows. Anyone not named Widow would have annihilated him, even Ant Man. But I guess they needed as many bodies as they can get in the fight or else it'll seem empty. Also I would imagine Tony would have invented something much more badass since Ultron. Like a Iron Man weapon or a new kickass feature (i.e. invisibility) to the suit. Afterall, he broke up with Pepper because of it, should have made it worth while.
Iron Man used to hold his own against whoever... like Thor. Now it's like his suit only lasts about 10 punches before it goes to ****.
Did we watch the same movie? Spoiler The only reason the fight ended was Cap destroyed his Arc Reactor with a Vibranium shield. This was after an extended fight with both Bucky, and Cap. At one point it looked like Bucky was going to straight up rip the reactor out of the suit. Not to mention he was seriously injured from the airport fight (he was wearing a sling for his arm, and at one point during the airport fight (when all the cars get dropped on him) his suit reports multiple contusions. He was crazy hurt. He didn't really stand toe to toe either. Thor was ****ing him up until Cap intervened. Yes, at one point Whedon did that whole increased power level from Thor's electricity, but it was temporary -- and for that matter just a fun unexpected thing to throw in. Power levels for characters have always varied between writer to writer in the comics, I don't expect the movies to be much different. Cap's movies in general are always more grounded. What I'm trying to say is, why do you think they made Vision / Scarlet Witch weaker in this movie? If not Vision or even Witch would have ended that fight with ease. Expect to see much more crazy **** in Infinity War, where the movie is Avengers focused rather than Cap focused.
Wasn't a fan of this movie. Too much going on for one movie, with too many characters (can't imagine what it will be like adding in Dr. Strange, Hulk, & Thor). The villian not having a bigger plan was pretty disappointing (though maybe he will moving forward). Normally I'm mad these things get split into multiple movies, but this one needed to be 2 movies, not 1.
Agree with Vision, if the Avengers just sent in Vision to do everything, this movie wouldn't exist because there'd be no drama. He stood toe to toe against Ultron, can morph through objects and people, can't be hit by bullets or punches. The only Avengers who might slow him down is SW.
IMO, they need to have all these characters in these movies to make it work. It won't be a "Civil War" if it was just 3 vs 3 and the whole point of the Avengers is to have more than one superhero. There would be far more people upset over the fact they didn't have all these superheroes appear than the people saying there's too many superheroes in the movie.
