Matt Winer: "So Kenny, I hear you are being interviewed for the Rockets head coaching position." "If you got the job how would you better incorporate Dwight Howard back into the offense" Kenny Smith: "I would tell Morey not to resign him." Dwight Howard: "....."
Worth noting is that Kenny will have his interview tomorrow (before Inside the NBA). Will he be able to look Dwight in his eye?
Might as well retire and make it permanent. He'd fit right in with former players who hate the Rockets, lol.
What if they decide to go with Smith and announce it in the afternoon that he's the new HC of the Rockets. What direction would the questioning be? Does he ask Howard to stay or does he care if he leaves or not?
I'm more interested in why the Inside the NBA guys thought this would be a good idea? Is Dwight some kind of draw nationally? Was Carmelo not available? Or Chris Paul? I guess its the Shaq/agent connection. Maybe they think Dwight will add another layer of levity? Maybe they'll appreciate the baked in tension since the show hasn't been the kindest to Dwight over the year?
My guess is it does have to do with the agent connection. Howard is just trying to rehab his image and what better venue than with the crew that ****s on him at least twice a week.
Spot on. Sounds like marketing. What do they call it "image branding". Dwights normally pretty good in interviews and speaking. What better show than Inside. The Kenny factor on the day he's being interviewed for the Rockets job (if I read that correctly) will be very interesting.
I agree. Especially when he threw that ball at Shaqs face. In hindsight I do wish he was selfish so we never signed that Scottie guy. I forgot his last name.
