Paul George isn't a good perimeter player? What?

Living in Indy, I can say their offense has indeed, sucked.

But that's not Vogel's fault. Their point guard is a 30 year old SG who averages less than 5apg for his career. A scoring guard who had the lowest usage rate since his rookie season.

And let's be honest, the rest of their roster outside of PG, Monta, and to an extent, G. Hill, is turrible.

PG? The dude who fired 6 3's a game in the playoffs, at a 42% clip? He's not a good perimeter player?

PG is a good shooter, but also somewhat inconsistent. I put him in the similar group as Harden and Lillard. Good overall shooters, but has too many off-games where you can't be considered an elite shooter.

    Day 4:

So, at what point can we say, "Well, he didn't move on Vogel as fast as LAL did with Walton." or "Vogel must have turned him down."

[edit] to avoid further misreads per shastarocket's post.

    - The only way he could have moved faster on Walton was if we missed the playoffs

    - Can't say anything about Vogel, but it's obvious that the interest isn't nearly as mutual as with Joerger and SAC. At least Morey jumped on Vogel as soon as he was available

Wasn't talking about getting Walton. Was talking about getting Vogel as fast as the LAL got Walton...per the OP title.

    Edited my post to clarify.

    #Process

Daryl likes JVG, but Les will have to be convinced.

I suspect that Les will want to talk to JVG, Vogel, Joerger and anyone else on the short list, before he decides who the next Rockets HC will be.

Of course when Les make the wrong choice, several years down the road the riff-raff here will call for Daryl's head.

    Makes sense now.

Well, IIRC interest was shown as soon as Vogel was officially let go. I'm not sure about the interview, but it was obvious that both parties were familiar with each other (previous 7hr interview).

The only thing we can speculate on is whether or not an offer was presented and what the terms were.

To this point, i agree that it would be something Morey/Les should be blamed for if we lose Vogel so they can "shop around"

Perhaps Vogel wants to see how thw Dwight situation shakes out? Brooks recently gave an interview and surprised me by saying that one of the most attractive aspects of the Wiz job was their flexibility.

Pretty audacious of an incoming coach with minimal roster familiarity to say something like that. Almost as if he has some modicum of control on that end...

Definitely not something that a Morey hired coach would say at this point in the offseason.

Perhaps Vogel knows that and wants to wait until things fall into place a bit.

    ---

One other major difference between this and Walton/Joerger is that Vogel clearly didn't want to leave. Apparently he tried to get Bird to take him back!

If you think about it, Walton, Joerger, Thibs, Messina and Brooks all have that in common: they've all mentally prepared themselves to leave. Maybe Vogel isn't quite there yet.

yup according to sauces- Morey should be out soon and the next coach will take full control-

Well first they have to finish their interviews with the low tier coaches..
