Anyone else feel like Melisandre's "Stannis was not the prince who was promised; someone must be" was just ****ty, corny, lazy writing?

 

I think Sansa eventually dies fairly soon. Leaving the blind sister (not blind now) the crippled kid, jon snow/wildlings to fight against the dragons and ice walkers.

mind you i read only the first 2 books about forever ago now. and i don't follow the show that closely.

 

My feeling has always been no Stark children will be reunited until the very end, if at all.

 

Super disappointed that the umbers have turned on house stark.

So much for that legendary loyalty to the starks

I was almost assured that, on Mother's day have you, we'd get some resolution to Johns mother.

No dice.

 

When wildlings start a coming. Backs start a turning. Especially to a family that no longer has an army and one of their own half brothers leads the 'savages'

Did they have to kill the Dire wolf?

 

Maybe it's just a large wolfs head? He didn't bow and the look they had didn't have that 'you traiter, you killed my wolf' anger/sadness to it.

If the Umbers knew that Ramsey killed his father, surely they knew about all the other sordid sh-t that was going on. Perhaps they has enough and are making a play.

I'm hoping for a double cross too. The Starks need a couple more wins to break even.

 

Richon's wildling friend - I really like her character - but she's in for some very drawn out torture and rape scenes. Almost wish they'd just kill her character off right away.

 

Im pretty sure, back in the olden days, they knew the difference between a direwolf and a regular wolf. Its like trying to pass on shwag for dro these days.

Also, I dont know if it was that hard to conceive the fact that ramsey killed his father and somehow the pregnant queen mysteriously disappears.

I am hoping they do make a play though. If they do, I still think theyll fall short, unless they team up with Jon and the wildlings. Then again, Jon just left all that. Who knows? I didnt think I could hate a character more than joffery, yet this guy just seems to get stronger and stronger.

 

Were the Umbers providing sanctuary to Rickon? If so why are they wearing wilding gear when handed over. I mean if they been under the protection of House Umbers then one would assume they would be dressed in something more respectable. Handing them over in wilding gear seems more like a plan has been hatched.

 

hopefully they gave GRRM the middle finger and didn't follow what he's writing.

The goes out of his way to prop up villains like Ramsey and passes it off as reality---when it really isn't because mad dogs like Ramsey don't keep getting gifts at their doorstep every other episode.


Martin lost his way after the 3rd book, put too many characters and too many untied ends (apparently for no reason).

I have no idea what will happen in the show but chances are it will be better than the remaining books.

 

They're only untied because he hasn't finished the series yet. A bit unfair to say he has loose ends when he hasn't finished the story quite yet.

I really don't feel like any characters in the books are just extra bonus characters. People will say the Greyjoys but remember that it was the war of the 5 kings and Balon Greyjoy was one of those 5.

I wonder about this, after all that Jon has done because of the threat of the white walkers it seems odd that he's going to just focus back on winning the north. After seeing what he's seen he knows the true danger here.

I think maybe he'll help unify the North knowing that is the only way they have a shot at the walkers, otherwise it seems pointless for him to go back and try to win the north back for his family when he knows Winter is Coming and he's seen an army of ice zombies that are headed his way.

 

Was thinking today about how this it's pretty sad even if Martin does finish them, I'm not sure I would want to read them after having watched the show.

While it's great it was made into a show, it's a shame he let them beat him to the end story.
