What do you mean by key rotational players? Those guys are not giving you a championship if you don't have also great players... And i'm not sure about the "perceived sense"...we were really that close, Riley just lost his mind and maxed Bosh (his wife was also more ok staying in Miami it seems), Parsons was let go...
I agree on most of your opinions. It's not as over-simplified as counting championships. However, championship should be the goal. To achieve that goal, every good GM needs to build an elite team, this team was not elite in the last 10 years. Trip to the western final was mostly lucky, partly because of the choke of the Clippers and partly because of Josh Smith. I was very upset that Morey did not keep Josh Smith and then trade him back when everything changed. Morey still has no clue what went wrong and claimed that players just did not shoot well. He should be fired long time ago rather than for us to wait for another season.
You have no idea what it takes to win a ring then. Well, I tried, carry on with your ignorance I guess.
He has made plenty of mistakes, unfortunately. The reason I don't advocate firing him is because I don't see a lot of great alternatives immediately (even though I also don't like that answer). Also, I want to wait and see what a new coach & team culture can do.
Or maybe i should just beg Les to hire you to run the franchise since you know what it takes...what a joke.
Actually you could take the common sense route and look for patterns amongst top teams over the last 30 yrs. There are a lot of similarities and constants from the front office , to the coach, and finally to the players. Or you could ignore all that and pretend that they built a cancerous culture and whored themselves out for FAs.
" a source of a source" Its all B.S. Le$ isn't firing Morey nor is Morey leaving. They thrive on the turd they have built.
Or the fact that everything they propose is the antithesis of every championship team save the Miami Heat getting Lebron due to the championship pedigree of Riley and Wade. They're like junkies in denial.
He actually did in 2008/09, not sure if you've not read well what i wrote, or if you're trying to twist the argument
It's one freaking season dude, there's not a single Rockets fan which is not really upset, but yeah, it happens, we'll be better.
He was responsible for getting Artest (1 yr rental) There is a reason that the Brooks/Landry/Scola draft is unique compared to our current ones. As a first year GM Morey went with CD's choice and Adelman's pick of Brooks who he saw play at Oregon. T-Mac and Yao were not the result of Morey.
No sure how you think 2008/09 was an elite team, that was a solid 50+ team. There was no elite NBA team in Houston in the last 10 years.
So you're saying that all the trades and draft picks were Rick and CD's work but the Artest trade is on Morey just because in your opinion it was a bad trade (which wasn't btw)?
