I don't want Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. They redid the rest of the cast. Hopefully they've cast someone else for Omega Red.
They eventually will have to. I think Hugh Jackman has stated that his body can't take much more of the diet/workout that it takes to play Wolverine. I don't know about actors' contracts, but I doubt he'll sign on to do Wolverine again past his contract. What is his last movie for the X-Men franchise right now?
Review embargo is up, and unsurprisingly this **** looking movie is getting **** equivalent reviews. 40% after 25 reviews (15 negative, 10 positive). First X-men movie I won't be going to see in theaters.
Dang, that's harsh. Probably not an opening weekend viewing for me, but I think reviews will get better. And by better, I mean settle at 50% with like, 175 reviews.
Damn, this looks like they took a good cast and dropped a total turd this time. Going to skip it. Maybe "from the logs of this steaming piles, we'll build a better one" down the line.
They'll only truly improve once JLaw is out. She's pretty much the biggest reason the movies haven't been as epic as it should have been. DoFP was badass, but imagine how much better it would have been without Mystique.
Totally agree with you, or rather, if it had the more silent, ass-kicking Mystique. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/LOBqfMx6Cn4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Not to burst your bubble but as of not too long ago Fox was hoping to get JLaw to continue playing Mystique, possibly in a standalone. This is per someone who works for Fox Studios. Not sure if they're feeling the heat and will change their minds now though. If negative reviews keep pouring in - especially those which criticize heavy use of Mystique - I'd hope they'd abandon the idea altogether.
I think it's more likely that she just gets sick of it and wants out; actually I think she already is, and probably also got bored of being Katniss. But... once some studio backs a truckload of money to your doorstep, it's probably easy to get over.
Nope. After DoFP she stated this would be her last movie, but then they allowed her to not have to put on make up as much. Ever since then she's outwardly been thrilled with the role and has made it clear she'd like to do more. (I'm sure she likes the paychecks too)
I don't hate Jennifer Lawrence as an actress. However, Mystique is just not a character that should be dominating the XMen universe. The character is interesting because of her...well..mystique...in the comics. She's supposed to be used sparingly. Secretive, mysterious, etc. That the whole XMen universe revolved around her doesn't make any sense. For this movie in particular I think Apocalypse looks terrible and that makes it hard for me to imagine that I could sit through it and not be shaking my head about that the whole time.
