Ah the classic what if! A peak Celtics trio? All 3 of them were 30+ when they joined together. The fact is, they were not brought together earlier in their careers, so the speculation is moot. And what if they didn't have Rondo? What if Wade's knee didn't disintegrate? That broken down Celtic trio won 56 games the year they lost in the ECF to the Heat; hardly a "weak" team if I've ever heard of one. But they were a Big 4 at that point as well. Lol. Rondo was the one absolutely manhandling the Heat, not the trio. Please, keep ignoring the fact Rondo was, at that time, considered one of the best point guards in the league.

Honestly what is a better bog four?

Curry, klay, dray, barnes vs Harden, Durant, Horford, Beasly

Thats as close as you get between being pretty even. Talent wise.

I'd have to go with the team that just won 73 games.

that Rockets team would be good, but I see Harden checking out often enough to not win 70 games.

Common sense gets the insider tag on this board now?

CyberX pisses in the wind and yall go nuts. Its easy, just throw a few logical claims out there, sometimes they hit, and you're an insider.

Durant is a good offensive player, but he is mostly an outside jump shooter now - I am not sure that he is the guy we really need.

Sure he will help on those 3s and offense but he is not a good defender at all.

See if you just take out Durant's name, it's almost as if you could be describing Aaron Brooks, Gerald Green or some other random role player. Are you seriously just going to pretend like Durant isn't a superstar MVP caliber player?

I think he is a great player - but not the same as he was before the feet injuries...and tying up a max deal - to a guy who is losing footspeed and only plays offense is scary when defense is the number 1 thing we are missing.

You are right DD, let's just give it to Parsons, right?

Well of course you go Durant over Parsons.....just voicing a concern, he did have 41 tonight....just looks like a little different player to me these days.

    Helluva offensive player for sure.

To be fair. DD is correct. If your team has Harden and Durant, who guards Leonard, Lebron, etc?

With that construction, you basically have to have a PG who is elite defender to take any elite wing player, or play small with Durant at the 4.

I think if Durant leaves OKC it will be to go to Oakland.

I never really understood why people think he would leave this year anyways when he can sign a one year deal and be choose when westbrook's contract is done also.
