Yes it is very sad the general knowledge of both World and US history among most Americans.

Because people have different views than you you call them stupid and buffons. It's no wonder things rarely get done in politics. The en masse disrespect and self righteousness on each side is sickening.

Not fair to only call out Americans when the entire world has this issue. Besides history is subjective so what does it matter if folks will believe their version without compromise anyway. Maybe it would be better if we forget history then make one up to suite our needs.

The spin and interpretation of history may be subjective. Historical events are not subjective.

The Reichstag burned, and (with no spin and putting it as simply as possible), the Nazis exploited this.

I don't mean you in particular, okay, but the fact that a large number of Americans don't believe facts exist anymore is a really disturbing part of our national problem.

They have been very well taught the controversy. I am not saying it is 100% the fault of certain cynical elites, but very influential and powerful people have invested a lot of time and money over decades to condition Americans to no longer believe in facts or scientific thinking. The most popular 24 hour news network is nothing but this conditioning.

Comparing the two is like comparing Obama's Benghazi to Hitler's Holocaust.

"Well, you know, people died in both instances. Dying is dying."

    Weak.

Oh really? I didn't see you defending Paula Dean back when she was accused of saying racist things years ago...

No, it's really not like the Holocaust at all....

The outrage over his comments is understandable but comparing it to the Holocaust is pretty bad taste.

This is not news, but you have a deep problem with attention to detail and reading comprehension.

This leads you to fumbling conversations and creating straw men and women left and right, some intentionally, of course, to deflect, but some unintentionally as well.

I am glad to hear that you now truly care about racism and will renounce a history of BBS race-baiting. Change is always possible, even where hope is not.

Oh, now this is rich content, B-Bob. I can tell that you really don't like getting embarrassed. It's a little different than your normal safe-space of talking at your students in the classroom.

I just put a spotlight on the liberals' complete hypocrisy. They're calling Donald Trump a racist, when their own candidate made racist jokes about Indians! And many of these liberals are the same ones who crucified Paula Dean for making racist comments decades ago! Their current democrat candidate made these racist jokes about Indians in 2004 when she was the junior senator from New York.

I remember that joke, and I remember her apology. I hate these stupid stereotypes and as an Indian, I do find them offensive.

But what she said is very different than what Trump said. She didn't call for banning Indians from coming into this country. She didn't say Indians were taking all the gas station jobs or American jobs or whatever. She didn't complain that India was raping our country. She never discriminated against Indians moving into property she owned, and she sure as hell never put up fake statistics claiming Indians to be violent.

So please, do us all a favor Mr. "I don't know what the F I'm talking about" - take that MLK quote out of your sig because it doesn't belong there.

Enjoy voting for Trump - the epitome of everything that MLK stood against.

I predict this will be the most bitter, over-hyped, sound byte filled, out of context quoted, irrelevant gotcha, cringe-worthy election in American history. I am really embarrassed for our nation. The lack of integrity of both sides is a message to the world that democracy is a farce and sets the cause back 50 years.
