    A) Sauces do say - you can't beat A1. Whenever a player like Harden chases down a coach at a restaurant like that - it shows big time respect.
    B) Harden is a media type. He is going to respect a guy like JVG who is a media master.
    C) Every player respects JVG after that Miami incident
    D) JVG is a finer coach than A1 steak sauce
    E) JVG is a players coach who is known for not only getting along with players, but getting his players to do what he wants.

Rockets would be wise to bring JVG back in, and he is humble enough to let the Rockets pick a coach for the offense.

No, what cost the Rockets RA is that he lost a power struggle. RA wanted control over trades/free agent signings.

Are you hearing anything on Vogel? Is he even interested in coaching? Is JVG going to interview?

Vogel’s downfall, according to one NBA insider with knowledge of the team’s locker room dynamics, was that he always bent over backwards to be nice to his players and never demanded accountability when they messed up.

Bird’s next coach needs to be able to get Monta Ellis to change, or he will have to reinstate George Hill as the primary playmaker after the veteran spent most of the season playing off the ball. Too many times in the regular season Vogel put up with Ellis controlling the ball deep into the shot clock, then passing off only because he couldn’t get his shot. That rubbed some the wrong way.

“Frank allowed Monta to walk all over him,’’ the NBA insider said.

If these statements are true, then NO to Vogel.

What goes on in the locker room might be where the problem lies. Reports coming from ESPN and other news sources have indicated people within the Mavericks organization are concerned about how Ellis’ attitude has had a negative impact on the team’s “soul.” Whether it is Ellis not being able to get along with teammates or causing issues with the coaching staff, the way he conducts himself will be a difference maker for the team down the stretch and into the playoffs.

As for now, Carlisle and the players are getting behind Ellis to show their support. Of course, that could change on a dime if he continues to bring down the morale of the team in such an important part of the season.

Looks like Ellis is difficult to manage in general...

The problem in Indiana is choosing Ellis over Vogel. The next coach has to get Monta Ellis to fall in line? GTFO. You can find a Monta Ellis anywhere. Monta Ellis don't have it all. That and Bird's thinking of 3 year shelf life for coaches is the problem in Indiana. Bad franchises stay bad for a reason. Bad ownership and bad management.

If Bird wanted to play a small, fast, efficient lineup, he should have given Vogel the personnel to do so.

    How so?

Did you see how well RA did with total control in Minnesota?

I was told that Vogel may prefer the Knicks job, as he has family in NY and likes the idea of coaching in front of them. The Rockets have already spoken to Vogel on the phone.

As for JVG, he has spoken to Morey several times. I don't know if there has been a standard interview, but JVG isn't someone to leak it to the press.

Funny how some GMs all want to all of a sudden get up tempo n score more ..... Meanwhile mike d Antoni is chillin on his 3 story mansion in Scottsdale, hooking up with ASU girls. (That's just a guess) :)

I'd be happy with either JVG or Vogel. Although I do know for sure that JVG would hold Harden and company accountable, with Vogel I'm not so sure he would do that.

Is Dan Burke leaving Indiana? I doubt it, he has been involved with the Pacers and close to Larry Bird for 15 or more years. Burke isn't a genius, he is a very very old school, hard working, respected assistant. He helps keep players focused.
