Outside of maybe 4 players the entire team has played like dogsh!t for most if not all of the season so far.

But yes, let's blame the manager (that worked out so well for the Rox this year). Hinch isn't perfect, no manager ever is, but to blame him for the failures of the players is asinine.

Another disappointing game. Stros fall deeper in a hole and face a stud tomorrow.

Harris should've pitched... 2 innings if necessary.

It's just not a smart move pitching Giles in that situation.

Easy, i saw what happened to Osuna last year with Toronto, and Feliz/VV were better prospects. Same situation, staters, with great stuff, Toronto had a lot of starters and tried Osuna in las situation games. He was so good that at the end, was the closer.

I wanted last year for the Astros to do the same with Feliz and VV.

Giles has a problem, and is mental. And Hinch using him in 1 run games will not cut it. Also, Luthnow made a mistake by only adding one left handed pitcher for the bullpen, very bad move.

Using Giles on a 1 run game when you have Neshek who had done MUCH BETTER, that is insane.

This team is as frustrating as it gets right now.

    1) Pettis is still an idiot. Castro didn't stand a chance at scoring. Springer was coming up with 1 out and a runner on 2nd and 3rd... but we send Castro home with zero chance of scoring. Just stupid.

    2) It never fails. Just when you think the bullpen might be turning it around, they completely blow chunks to bring you back down to Earth. Not much Giles could do about the weak hit he gave up, but you CAN'T come in and walk the first guy.

    3) With all of these reports coming out about more PED suspensions coming soon, it scares me that Altuve might be one of them. I mean he's always been a good hitter, but this power came out of nowhere. And it's opposite field power too.

Feliz pitched very good in his last 2 games.

Of course he will struggle, he is NOT USED.

Hinch isn't blameless . It's up to the coaching staff to help the players play to their potential . They get credit when players can play fundamentally sound and make good adjustments . So far the league has out scouted the Astros and our players are struggling to adjust back .

Hinch absolutely deserves blame for how undisciplined we play . He can call it being aggressive all he likes , but when opposing teams can frequently get multiple players on our team to look like fools and swing out of their shoes then he needs to demand we cut back on our approach and play for more simple outcomes .

Fields is the odd man out in the pen, he just serves no real purpose for the big club right now, but he has enough talent to keep getting chances and hope that he might figure it out someday.

Neshek is, like you said, and excellent RH specialist. There's a place for a guy like that.

How do you know it's mental ? Are you his psychologist ? Are you an expert on pitching mechanics ?

Just becuase something happened in a similar situation doesn't mean it will automatically work here .

    Feliz has mostly sucked ass

Agree on LHP in the pen .

Can we all agree that Gomez should be sent down? The guy isn't even having quality at-bats.

Marisnick should take Gomez' time not Rasmus' .

I missed out on why Rasmus didn't play , is he hurt ?

Does anybody else realize he'll be 31 in a few months?

People talk about him like he's still a young project trying to find himself... the guy is who he is. A former first round draft pick, 4 year college pitcher, who took 4 years to make it to the majors and has had a mixed bag of results since.

I suppose he's never had arm trouble, so there's that... Tim Redding-eque.

Hinch cannot change Carlos Gomez, or Evan Gattis, or Altuve on the bases, or make Correa not botch routine plays, or make Keuchel not walk half the damn lineup, or make Giles not groove fastballs, or etc.... He has made some strategic mistakes, as all managers do, but he abso****inglutely cannot will these players to play up to their potential. This was, remember, the same guy that was universally praised and runner-up for manager of the year just a few months ago.

More of an ******* than a jackass, or so I've been told.
