Damn, didn't see the jump Castro got, but that was a great play to get it in quick by the CFer. Then again, as terrible as the Stros have been at scoring runs/moving runners with less than 2 outs, I wouldn't have any faith that they'd drive Castro in from 3rd anyway.
Lol hinch is straight bush league . This game and the last game , he has come out and argued for a decent time that one of the new rules has been broken . Last game with the double play , today with the one at home . That is such an obvious non call , why even go out ? How about instead of trying to twist those new rules to your advantage why not just hire a 3rd base coach that won't send one of our slowest runners .
Apparently you can't block the plate without the ball . After the catcher caught the ball he blocked the plate . Since the throw best Castro by so much , I think it didn't even matter if the catcher interfered . I thought it was in poor taste that hinch went out .
There isn't a 1B in the majors who turns and fires to 2nd on that squib shot. Not sure why you're so hellbent on trying to give Giles credit for starting off the inning with only a walk and a infield base hit anyway.
Pettis has got to go. There's no excuse to send him when you could have had 2nd and 3rd with one out and the go ahead run sitting on third with Springer at the plate. Oh look! There's the sac fly to give us the lead! Oh wait....
I'm sure they held in case the ball was caught, and yes, it was a great job for them to get that ball back in.
Yes there is. I promise you 100% Marwin does and a good 1B gets himself in a much better position to make a throw. White has shown a couple of times tonight why 1B defense is severely underrated. The walk is bad, but the single wasn't.
