Spoelstra has that same film coordinator back ground, I feel very comfortable with that aspect.


Someone in this thread also posted a good YouTube video of the movement in the Pacers offense, it WON'T be the same as JB's

 

underwhelmed.

 

They're keeping their def coordinator....which is what I'm concerned about...if he's not an off guy and the defense was someone else's job, then what do we really get?

Brad Stevens is the new coach of the Rockets.

Blind followers : OMG! Praise cyberx! He called it!


Okay...obviously Morey would contact a top 10 coach, who also is more familiar with modern NBA than someone like JVG. I think Vogel becomes the coach. Not to mention the interest was reported elsewhere.

 

Ugh. You're THAT guy. His entire point was that Vogel is apparently Morey's #1 target and he's trying to get him in and tied to a contract ASAP, assuming Les & Harden like him.

 

So who should we hire if both wants to get the job... Vogel or JVG??

 

Of course Vogel becomes the primary option. I don't see how this is even debatable.

You make a really good point about JVG. But there are others that have come from time out in the media that it hasn't worked for (you could possibly include Karl to that list).
I don't think we could do too much wrong with either JVG or Vogel.

 

I very much appreciate that Clutch vouches for him and your opinion as well. Let's just say that he is indeed an insider, than wouldn't you agree that he is one of the worst out there because he is hardly ever right. I know that these things seldom work out as planned, but just once in a while it would be nice to see his rumor come true (other than obvious ones like the Rockets are interested in Vogel). I guess it is always better to get something rather than nothing. I recall him claiming last year that Phoenix was begging Morey to take Isiah Thomas (and Plumlee) off their hands for either TJones or DMo and he said Morey was only interested in Dragic. If true than Morey really screwed the team for years to come!!!

 

This is a belief held by a lot of players as well. You can ride a group of players for 3-4 years and they start to tune you out. It is that way with a lot of coaches that are extremely demanding like Thibs, JVG etc. Now there are exceptions, but I don't think Bird is expecting Pops or even Spolstra. I like Vogel, he is in the top 1/3 of coaches in the NBA but a lot of fans and media that watched the Pacers closely this year felt Vogel was tuned out by players sometimes.

 

I am glad someone said it. He hasn't had much offensive talent.

 

It seems everything comes with a price..... there are hardly any players at are very good at both O and D, I mean, equally good

I would feel so much better about the direction of this team if Morey got Vogel on board.

 

Absolutely JVG. JVG is well respected and has the wide connection within the league that Morey does not have, which will be critical when you need someone to coordinate for a trade. As far as coach seaches, it really does not matter because I do not believe any coach could make this team contender any time soon.

 

Rumors are heating up about Kenny Smith. Caught a clip of him on persicope talking and people were asking him the HC job in Houston. He seemed really interested.
