Could somebody summarize Vogel's strengths and weaknesses?

Would Harden listen and respect him as head coach?

He stated sources say the Rockets are trying to seal the deal quickly. That appears to bepure BS. No sources are saying that. The info you posted was common knowledge, as NBC posted the same item yesterday (stating he would be likely fired today). I recently met Vogel and he is a class act and is extremely humble. I hope he gets the Rockets job, but have a bit of concern if Houston's immature players would take advantage of his niceness. He would be a fantastic coach for a mature veteran team. This team may need more of a disciplinarian type coach to succeed.

cyberx is an insider, that we know, as Clutch has confirmed it. His sources are...well, his sources. He's not talking about national media sources that have been leaked...that's kind of the point of being an insider.

You're only making that prediction because you wanted to find something to b*tch about.

For anyone who might know something...

Is Kelvin Sampson a legit candidate? Any discussions between he and Rockets?

I know it would need to be very hush-hush so as not to piss off his current employer.

Great relationship with Harden and had our D on point when he was here. What's not to like?

Why am I press F5 repeatedly? Will we see any news about interviewing today?

Vogel isnt a bad choice, but I still go with JVG currently.

The last thing the Rockets need to do right now is hire a coach that just got let go from the east. Jvg, like Kerr before going back to coaching, has had time to study the game objectively without bias as an analyst at espn for the last several years. Jvg went on a break from a highly stressful job, is now refreshed, mentally rejuvenated and ready to lead a young team to the promise land. The Basketballl knowledge he has accumulated over that last several years by just watching the best teams play year after year is alone worth the signing of JVG, get err done Morey!

If we make a hire without first interviewing JVG, I'm going to be one very unhappy person.

So people are saying Bird wants to get rid of him because of "poor offense". This should be interesting unless we keep the offensive coordinator/defensive coordinator philosophy.

Hiring Vogel just allows Morey to keep the same offense. It's disappointing watching Drayl Morey's stubbornness put us back

In offense you mean the Harden show? The same offense with zero movement where Harden had more iso's than the whole GS organization?
