I don't see any incentive for superior people to run for office. You have to beg and w**** for money all day every day, there is little chance of passing meaningful legislation, opposition criticism isn't held to any standard of truth or decency, your privacy family time and free time is limited and there isn't that much money in it until you w**** yourself out as a lobbyist after you service.

You know, there's a song called "Jezebel" on that EP.

Jezebel: an impudent, shameless, or morally unrestrained woman.

This truly is the Kobayashi Maru of presidential elections.

It's the trend of hype over substance, actually brought on by the democratization of information. Look all over the internet, it's all unvetted opinion, where real thoughtfulness carries no more weight than the mindlessness rambling or even crafted propaganda.

It's the age of Yellow Journalism on steroids.

Some people read enough history, or study enough law or economics or are passionate enough negotiators that all the other stuff is worth getting to participate and impact change.

Going to be weird to see them all bow before Trump and start speaking his talking points, etc. Really, really weird.

I'm looking at this glass half full.

No matter WHO wins/loses in November....I cannot be any more disappointed since they both suck.

    Very
Cause Donald definitely is not one to bend to the will of party
He feels like all of this is a MANDATE
and they have to come to him .. . rather than him having to do anything for them

Anything to win. And trump got a lot of votes. A demagogue white male is still very attractive to a large portion of the electorate.

You can spew all the crap you want, because there are literally no words in the entire English language that are going to supplant these 3 beauties for you Republicans/conservatives:

    You. Got. Trump.

I have faith this country will not elect Trump. Trump must not only lose, but he must lose in a horrific landslide that forever rejects this type of person from being in American politics.

This isn't about his views or business skills, it's about what it means for our political system. That a human being that can act like a 6 year old be elected as a major party nominee for president is disturbing.

This dude is going to be slurping on his own tears come general election just like he had to do with Obama.

    I feel kind of sad.

The texxx troll schtick was always promising, but Obama really did a number on him.

Because she is such a week candidate herself, Hillary can't beat anyone in a landslide unless something weird happens. If Trump doesn't have meltdowns in September and October, she will only win by 6-7 points at the most.

However, if Trump can't handle the pressure and implodes a few times, that could make it a blowout.

Make no mistake, the pressure down the stretch when the stakes are high will make Trump's nomination run seem like a picnic.

That's what I'm most cynical about. I think people flocked to Trump not because of immigration or trade or whatever- but because he speaks "what everyone thinks". Most people are just big kids playing grown up.
