I literally cannot remember a single novel insight I have heard from Mark Jackson as a TV commentator. I'm talking about the kind of remark that makes you think, "Wow, this guy understands the game at another level." I've heard many from Van Gundy, Reggie Miller et al. Not one from Jackson. He's one cliche after another, year after year. If he had anything worthwhile upstairs, we'd have heard it by now.

But people on this board want JVG who was notorious for keeping a shirt rotation, not playing young guys, and didn't have a very well developed offense. Lol

Don't get me wrong I want JVG and believe if given the opportunity he can show he's grown as a coach then why can't we give Jackson the same treatment?

2 stars for mildly creative title.

Mark Jackson's teams just resorted to thuggery when things weren't going their way. Remember the hard fouls when the Rockets almost hit the single season 3 point record?

It's true enough. Didn't JVG coach that playoff game where only 4 Rockets scored? That year, believe it or not, was as bad to watch as this year.
However, that roster is hysterically bad offensively.

That roster is quite terrible, not his fault hardly anyone can score.

And we won 52 games that year.

Have you seen Andrew Bogut lately? Looks like Steve Kerr resorts to the same type of thuggery:rolleyes:

Arguably, Steve Kerr does utilize thuggery like Jackson did (between the moving screens, clutching & grabbing and agitation behind the play). The Warriors certainly have a way of getting into other teams' heads, just like the 90's Jazz.

The difference is that Kerr has also brought historically great shooting and ball movement which, combined with that chippiness, puts them in an all-time stratosphere.

Through defense. If Pop can make NBA fringe players look like competent role players, then JVG should have been able to find a way to tease 2 points from Luther Head.

It was a bad roster compounded by bad offensive coaching.

I still think JVG is a good coach overall.

Mark Jackson thought David Lee should be starting over Draymond Green. That's all you need to know
