I know you've decided to vote for Hillary but I don't think that Trump is done quite yet. He shouldn't be where he is but that doesn't change the fact that he is. If nothing else it should be VERY entertaining television when Trump and Shillary are on the debate stage together. I don't like the idea of Trump being the GOP nominee but I can't vote for Hillary. She represents everything that is bad with American politics. I can't in good conscience vote for a person that I truly believe would lie about anything or anyone, change stance on anything at any time, and step on anyone anywhere as long as she gains power. I believe Hillary would shoot her own mother to be president.
You almost feel bad for Cruz because he knows politics much better than Donal Trump. It's just the GOP (and probably the general electorate) would rather vote for Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho to spite the US government.
Over 70% of the country hates Trump, over 75% of female Republicans hate Trump. He has no chance in a national election whatsoever and him winning the Republican ticket will lead to Democrats controlling everything. People really won't show up to vote when Trump is the guy even if you are trying to put on a happy face. I will be voting straight party Democrat if the Republicans are the party of Trump and I know a LOT of people that will do the same despite never having voted for a Democrat before. You might as well accept now that this is the end of the Republican party. Embrace the suck.
I know I shouldn't feed the trolls, but I have to ask, what would your reasoning be in doing that? If someone typically votes republican, but decides to vote democrat as a protest because you don't like the republican nominee, that is the height of ignorance.
I disagree. If the Republican party nominates Donald Trump, I want that party to die. I don't want them to ever again win any election because they've proven to be incompetent. Normally I'd just vote Libertarian when the Republicans nominate a bad candidate, this time it's a lot more than just a bad candidate, it's a national embarrassment. I could never in good conscious vote for the party of Trump and I'd want that party to cease to exist.

You can't blame him for holding out hope that Republicans will vote for a Republican rather than voting for Hillary Clinton.
It's one thing to hold out hope. It's another to find no fault whatsoever with an incredibly flawed candidacy. He takes it to the point of weirdness.
Carly made her move and like the rest of the campaign it was a free fall that Ted completely ignored.
If Ted Cruz loses and drops out tomorrow, I wonder if Kristol and the #NeverTrump squad will start working on that third party option. Maybe Mitt Romney. I bet he'd win Utah, Wyoming and Idaho. Not sure if there's enough time to get him on the ballot.
Cruz is well educated and bright. He loves politics and has put a lot into this Presidential run. However, tactically he has made many mistakes because he doesn't really understand basic human psychology and he has a poor intuition. Cruz' has spent the last 5-6 years making himself into a factional candidate with limited wide spread appeal. He purposely alienated the RNC and high ranking Republicans. He turned his campaign into an admission that he would lose to Trump but rely on a brokered Convention to squeeze into the nomination. He made up some ground and had momentum against Trump, and failed to realize that sort of undermining the election results by overtly courting delegates would only help Trump in the media and with Republican voters. He shoved his foot in his mouth discussing New York values weeks before the New York primary. He chooses an uninspiring VP choice, right after a huge win by Trump; hoping it would steal media attention from Trump. Instead it only made Cruz look desperate, didn't change media coverage and upset some Republicans because Cruz broke with tradition. Cruz has long term severely hurt his electability to a national office and has pigeon holed himself as a splinter candidate.
People believe what they want to believe. By your username, I naturally believe you're from Oklahoma. Everyone I know from Oklahoma is very conservative. Veeeery. The accusations you make for Hillary Clinton certainly apply to Ted Cruz but somehow you either don't see it or won't comment on it. Cruz is bottom-feeding scum. In his every interview he never answers a question, always pivots immediately to Cruz Scripture. Chuck Todd eviscerated him on Sunday morning and wasn't even being all that tough on him. Yes, I'm a Hillary supporter, and I would be the first to say she shoots herself in the foot. But many politicians have presidential ambitions and yet somehow don't get the same amount of criticism. I'm not saying it's because she's a woman, I'm not going there (I only mention it to forestall the criticism); but the Republican Party has been after her for more than 20 years. The other side decided early: Do not like. Spin narrative.
Actually you're right and wrong. Cruz is smart. He was rolling bones from the beginning. Should not have beat dewhurst but the low turnout worked in his favor. Then he's Senator but he knows the math is long against any person seeking the Presidency. So he made his play. In comparison the junior Senator from Texas has done **** all for Texas.
All there are in this election cycle are incredibly flawed candidates. Cruz is no more flawed than Hillary and both of them are considerably less flawed than Trump. Absolutely. Trump has literally no chance, Cruz would have some chance, that's better. Not just that though, with Cruz running, there's a chance the Republicans hold on to the House and Senate, they likely lose both if Trump is the nominee. Because of that alone Cruz is better even if he would end up losing to Clinton. 15 million Republicans have voted for anti-Trump candidates, only 10 mil have voted for Trump....he'll never get the votes of a huge percentage of Republicans and he'll get almost no votes from anywhere else while energizing the opposition to get to the polls to vote against him. It's literally the worst thing that could happen to the Republican party.
