Feels like the convo we always had about Biggio--hence him fluctuating between the 1/2 spot his whole career Spoiler Brian Hunter available?
Would love to see Kemp brought up. He would be a good option in the lead off spot. Altuve is taking more pitches this year like he's trying to be a better leadoff hitter and just took strike 3. Altuve is the best hitter on the team and would be better served in the 3 spot this year.
Fister has actually been a good #5 type starter and would have better numbers if it wasn't for Springer's mishap. He's for the most part done his job this year.
Springer should just hurry up and become the second coming of Carlos Beltrán, that worked out pretty well for us  Hope the good guys can get this one and head home with a win.
The more this season turns into a sh!tshow, the more I eventually want to see some vets out and the new blood in, even if they're not quite ready what does it matter if the team is still terrible in June/July? Another thing, and I know this is the wrong place for it, if they don't spend some large $$$ on a SP or 2 this deadline/offseason I will seriously start to question their "plan".
I like Kemp but he looked overmatched this ST. I would like to see him play a full year on Triple A and next year fight for that cf job (Gomez should not be re sign)
Definitely. And even if they're doing well, we'd still want to see Reed up at a minimum to help bolster the lineup. So regardless of how things are going, we should see a couple of young guys up...but yeah, more if the season keeps going sideways. Whether to fix this year or next. Yes. But we need to be patient enough (if the season is still in the tank come July) to wait for the offseason if necessary. If we're in range of a playoff spot, then yes, at deadline we should definitely see something.
Point taken. Just don't understand them going solely low and away on guys they have extreme shifts on for.
I agree that new blood needs to be out there sooner then lately. I think new blood is really the only hope for this current club. I also agree the FO needs to spend more if they are really trying to contend moving forward. They have been settling on stop gaps for the most part with a lot of the vets on this team.
I am not real knowledgeable about baseball pitching. So. Help me out here. What is Hill throwing that is making Gattis and White freeze? Looks like slow slop?
It's the same curve and set of pitches that had Hill enter this game with a 2.42 ERA and nearly 13 K's per 9IP. Doesn't appear to just be limited to the Astros
google these words then check a calendar: eventually, June, July Absolutely agree. Other than Strasburg (yeah, right), there aren't really any frontline SP available as straight FA this offseason. You may have to trade for one regardless if in-season or in the winter.
now you have me dreaming. pleaseStraspleaseStraspleaseStraspleaseStraspleaseStras I'd give him (assuming he stays completely healthy this year) a Price-esque offer and see what happens
