Absolutely identity confusion. A lot of asks for vets, knowing that the ones we considered aren't playing well. A lot of asks for young guys, knowing that some (Reed) aren't even performing in AAA or MLB (Marisnick). It comes down to everyone being pissed at losing and wanting to win, which I get. Unfortunately, a ton of the options that were out there are all performing poorly. Given that, I'm glad we went the high flexibility and lower payroll route. Forgot to mention Kazmir as a highly sought after guy who isn't doing well in the last post. Being upset about Velasquez I have no issue with. But personally I'm still ok with the risk/reward evaluation involved there on his injury potential. Assuming Giles pans out one day of course
This team has seriously sucked a** this season. The trades last season and the offseason moves have been horrible. Completely useless moves. The fact that the team was cool with playing Castro and Valbuena against this season is disgrace. Why are they even on this team let alone starting? Castro is only here because Keuchel likes him as his catcher smfh. Wonder if Keuchel likes him this year as he's one of the major pieces to this team blowing so far. I haven't given up hope on the Astros turning it around but this team has been flat out awful. Just about everyone is slumping at the same time. Hinch sucks. I hope they fire him during the season. Preferably they fire him in the morning. This team would be better with no hc than Hinch as the head coach.
Yep, just like the Rockets Soon as they got rid of the problem, McHale, things turned around immediately
Who was your catcher preference? Lucroy's power appears to be sapped so far, and maybe his asking price is coming down from the insane amount they were asking for in the offseason

Just to add one more thing to this discussion...While yes, we did take Bregman with the pick we were given for not signing Aiken, it's pretty likely the Rockies and Rangers take Rodgers and Tate if we didn't have that pick, so there is a good chance we end up with Bregman anyway. Wouldn't have gotten little Tucker though
ok fair, still 1/2 then. I don't think anyone can be down on Kyle yet...people were pretty pumped up at draft time.
Oh yea I certainly think Kyle is a very good prospect, and he is actually off to a pretty good start at Class A. Hitting the ball with some authority and stealing some bases also. Good chance that this time next year he is our #1 prospect if Bregman is with the big club
Today's lineup (vs lefty) 1. Jose Altuve (R) 2B 2. George Springer (R) RF 3. Carlos Correa (R) SS 4. Colby Rasmus (L) CF 5. Evan Gattis (R) DH 6. Tyler White (R) 1B 7. Preston Tucker (L) LF 8. Marwin Gonzalez (S) 3B 9. Jason Castro (L) C
Vs LHP, that top 6 plus Marwin is very solid...Tucker has been really bad in limited exposure to LHP and of course Castro is Castro Hill has been up and down, really need to hammer him today

Weird coincidence... GS/POR eliminated the Rockets each of last 3 seasons ___ Stros in dire need of a victory today. One month in, already 4 losing streaks of 3+, haven't won B2B games, and only 1 series win. Despite OAK's crap lineup, I'm not confident Fister will pitch well.
Hmmm I don't have the normal excitement I get when its time to watch an Astros, rockets or Texans game
