not nearly as good is reaching it..... Dream was Top 3 or maybe even the best Defensive guy of Alltime. Harden is not even among the mediocre ones this era.
Tinman is by far the worst and most obnoxious poster on this site, no contest. He is so annoying that even when he is 100% right he manages to get plenty of people against him just because it is him. By the way, how do the rest of the 99ers rolleyes feel about him ?

You could point to a couple of advanced stats where Harden wins, but the overall case is not even close. Hakeem was double teamed constantly opening up the floor for his teammates to get easy shots. Harden is rarely/never double teamed. Even though he gets assists, he dominates the ball and which hurts the flow of the offense which leads to harder shots for the team. Advanced stats are really bad at tracking defense - even Morey has said this. Hakeem was the best defender in the NBA erasing the mistakes of his teammates. Harden is one of the worst defenders in the NBA. If you consider offense only, and are just looking at stats, you might take Harden over Hakeem. If you actually watch games and know anything about floor spacing, you would take Hakeem in an instant. Throw in defense and its not close. And lets go ahead and add in leadership, which also goes to Hakeem. Hakeem is literally and figuratively head and shoulders above Harden.
when you add in more rebounds, block shots, opponents scoring avg, and the intangible of motivating the team, you add huge factors (and points to the ROckets) to Dream. Still comparing apples to oranges at different positions. Someone compare James to JOrdan.

Yep. Hakeem was the best player on that team too. I always hate the revisionist history that says Hakeem had to learn to trust his teammates to win a championship. The fact was he made it to the finals in his second year. Then the team got devastated by drug suspensions and injuries. It took years to rebuild the talent around him. He dominated in the playoffs early in his career too.
By the looks of this poll, seems as though we have a ton of new fans...Maybe they just don't know how truly great Hakeem was. Kids...drugs are bad mmmkay.
Look at who created the poll. That is the reason why the voting is absurd. I doubt majority of BBS posters believe Harden had a better year than Hakeem's MVP season. If they do, I give up on this BBS.
or a bunch of idiots that like to pass on subjective advanced stats as "facts.." Its hilarious really.
The real comparison is Dwight and Hakeem, lol. The fact that it's not even worth discussing shows you that Harden had no help at all.
