How did you come to this conclusion?

She has the power is to manipulate probability in the comics.

In the movies....she and her brother survived a bomb, her and her brother are the only ones to survive Hydra's experiments. I even think Ultron makes some kind of statement about understanding how they survived while looking at her. They are also referred to as "miracles" and her specifically as "weird". She was able to make Avengers see possible futures which may be tied to probability.

"Main" may have been the wrong word. "Most game changing" may have been a better choice.

I'm not sure what them being referred to as miracles has anything to do with her manipulating probability. Anyway, her powers are pretty different from the comics. I don't believe they are related to manipulating probability at this point. I'm sure we'll see some added nuances, but her powers are essentially telekinesis, energy projection, and mind control in the movies to this point.

"Her thing is neuro-electric interfacing, telekinesis, mental manipulation."

I've always thought he had one of the coolest powers if you think about it. You could pretty much do whatever you wanted because you know you're always going to end up on the right side of probability.

I guess the twins being lucky twice when she was around could just be a coincidence. We'll see. The Scarlet Witch without probability would be like Ryan Reynolds' first appearance as Deadpool.

Well considering she didn't actually have powers when they survived the bombing or the experiments (which are what gave them powers in the first place), I'd say it's safe to assume that isn't the case.

Again I'm not saying they won't add in later "Oh, by the way her powers are probability based and they're called 'hex' powers!". All I'm saying is to this point that isn't the case and that isn't the way they've been explained.

I believe the reason being is that prior to her introduction in the MCU they didn't have any characters with any sort of telepathic/telekinetic powers whatsoever. So then trying to explain that her powers are related to probability and blah blah blah would have been a lot for the audience.

Longshot is the man. First time I read a comic with him, he jumped off a building (or other high structure) and a beautiful woman just happen to be flying by and caught him.

It is an assumption that the experiments gave her powers instead of magnified powers she already had passively. I am in the boat that her powers are derived from probability even though the movie didn't take the time to explain it.

The MCU movies cannot use 'Mutants' as characters, those belong to Fox and the X-Men universe. So, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch's origins were altered to become the results of Hydra experiments, rather than having been born with them as mutants.

This is probably why they went ahead and killed QS off, as without the Mutants storyline, he had no future in that universe. Which makes me wonder just how Wanda will manage - but of course she was a core Avenger too, so we'll see.

The hope, of course, is that Fox comes to the same conclusion that Sony did, and allows the MCU to regain access to the X-Men as Sony did with Spider-Man. Until the Iron Man movie came along, Spider-Man and the X-Men were Marvel's two most valuable properties. It's a pretty large miracle that Marvel has managed to turn the Avengers-Universe into as popular and profitable a franchise as it has.

I can only imagine what could be done if they had the Fantastic 4 and X-Men back in the fold.. imagine Galactus done correctly, imagine the Phoenix saga done correctly.. Wow.

Don't hold your breath on that. Sony let Marvel use Spider-man because they knew they were screwing it up with no light at the end of the tunnel. The X-men movies are more popular than ever, and I believe Apocalypse (despite my issues with how they have ran those films) will be its' highest grossing film to date other than Deadpool.

What I'm saying is maybe we might get lucky and get something like an X-man character or two in a MCU movie and vice versa. I don't think you'll ever see Fox relinquish control of the franchise however. (I don't know what their movie contract looks like)

The best we can hope for is that they give up on Fantastic Four and revert those rights to Marvel. (Also...they're planning on making references to the Phoenix saga in this movie...can't wait for them to **** that up again)

My take on the QS thing is, they both knew they were making films with the same characters (naturally). Days of the Future Past came out and people viewed that as the definitive take on QS (with good reason, he's crazy OP in that movie). So the agreement became, "Okay well fine we're going to use QS in AoU but we're going to kill him anyway. We're keeping Wanda though." Fox agrees, and thus...there will be less confusion about QS going forward cus he's only in the Xmen movies. Plus you'll notice there's no Scarlet Witch in the Xmen movies even though they technically have rights to her. He even has a little sister in DOFP and they claim that's not Witch...derp.

I still think Galactus winds up with MCU. It probably makes sense for Fox monetarily. They cant win using that license.

I don't need X-Men in the MCU. And they're my favorite characters. :(

Yep, they can't use mutants...but they can have people like mutants that aren't called mutants and don't have the X-gene. Whether SW's powers are Inhuman, based on probability or not, or completely from the experiments...she still appears powerful enough to bring down Vision and anyone else on the Team Iron Man.

I hope the MCU reveals conclusively that her powers are based on probability.

Just saw it. Thought it was fantastic.

The new additions of Spiderman and Black Panther were fantastic. It's a long movie with lots of stuff happening, and it took some turns I wasn't expecting.

I haven't read the Civil War comics, but how close was the movie to them?

So what happened at the end? Are the Avengers done? Or is Iron Man still around? Are Captain America and his gang the Avengers?

Quite far. The only thing they have in common is the government regulation and that Tony sides with it while Cap is against it. That's it. The comics had the pro-side mutants revealing their secret identities, a whole plotline with Spidey that retconned a lot of stuff, and it was a much less personal story, dealing more with ideology and politics.

Believe me, the movie was way better. The comics have a lot of r****ded stuff that the MCU is filtering off, leaving only the good parts.

I hope from now on all single character movies will feature at least 2 other members of the Avengers. Going back to see one superhero go at it for 90+ may seem boring now. It didn't make any sense when Thor was fighting the Dark Elves all by himself when the universe was at stake.

With the way things go down in Civil War, I think that's the plan.I can't imagine a single character movie after this.
