Was not expecting another receiver, but the offense should be a lot more exciting.

Great value at the 3rd. He's gonna play a lot from the start. Him and Fuller.

I think he has suspect hands (but not bad hands). I also think he has elite ability to get separation and track the deep ball.

He was the #22 pick, you aren't going to find someone perfect at that spot. The other options were slow (compared to Fuller) or not big play guys.

Braxton...I like the player a lot but not the pick for the Texans when we had holes elsewhere. I don't understand taking a guy who will be the 4th option at best (assuming he beats out guys like Shorts and Strong and we don't feature TEs much).

Braxton is a project, but a much better one than Strong. He played one year at WR and showed great flashes. He is raw at route running but if he can pick it up then he's got some real upside.

Strong was a very much wtf pick. His scouting report said can't get separation, bad hands, and bad attitude. Then he shows up to camp overweight.

I think Fuller and Braxton have much better makeup with real playmaking ability.

Still confused as to how we are gonna use so many receiving targets.

I mean, Lamar Miller catches a lot of passes too.

When Kubiak was here, Andre also played with a Pro Bowl QB, arguably the #1 RB, a great OL, and solid TE play.

We're not sure the Texans have that this year

I was pretty gung ho about the 2012 season with Schuab coming back.

Nuke, Fuller and Miller, WR/WR/Slot.... somebody is drawing a mismatch

This helps Osweiler in that he will have a pretty good idea who will be open on the pre-snap read (Nuke when he is one-on-one) and won't have to go through as many long progressions meaning he'll need less time and gets sacked less.

Add Lamar Miller out in a pattern and you have a defensive coordinator's nightmare.

I was thinking no in this vote because I thought we needed a DE most, but I see this plan and think WOW.... if it works it could be scary good. But drill baby drill, we need 10,000 practice reps.

Excuse me while I giggle at your expert draft analysis. For a fun walk down memory lane, below are your thoughts on drafting JJ Watt in 2011

At a minimum, we now have a player on the roster who (1) is a dangerous KR and PR, and (2) is a dangerous gadget/wildcat player. That is what he brings on day 1, game 1, with no further development.

He has the potential to develop into a dynamic slot or outside receiver. In fairness, WR is one of the more difficult positions to contribute early, and Brax Miller is still facing a learning curve, so I can see the objection on that front. But as noted above, he does impact the team day 1.

Have people forgotten how bad our special teams has been? The thought of having a weapon back there is so foreign that people forget good teams have playmakers back there.

I'd be surprised if sees much action at wr early on after pre season. He will play special teams which will be nice to finally have an explosive return man again that isn't an idiot. Hopefully middle of the season or later he is competent in the routes enough to be on the field consistently because good chance by then that Cecil shorts is hurt.

The reason I would call it a bob draft is because the players drafted are guys he met personally

Totally surprised by this. I figured Dline or maybe safety would have been the pick but I'm all for taking the best value in the 3rd.

I haven't watched him much but he's definitely explosive and it looks like he sets up his his defender well with his feet. It's also interesting with him being an ex QB and knowing how to read a defense and knowing the soft spots. Sure he's raw but this, like others have said, a very non Texan pick.

That's one of the most exciting aspects of it. It's so different from what we'd expect. Finally, you can see that O'Brien is getting his chess pieces.

I was expecting DLine or a safety as well.

I'd love to get Hassan Ridgway, Jayron Kearse, or Jalen Mills with the next pick and then Beau Sandland in the fifth. Then, if Scooby Wright or Matakevitch fall, nab them with the last pick.

I like the pick (speed and great attitude... both sorely needed). It would have been an even better pick if we didn't have other holes needing filling (TE, S, LB, DL) but I'd rather get a few impact players than a bunch of fill-ins.

I've explained it a million times.

Rick doesn't make the roster decisions. He gets neither

So Rick is in charge of...

    Contracts
    Trades
    Scouting & Training Staff
Personnel Issues (handing out fines, suspensions, etc)

If this is the truth, then he's not a GM as much as a human resources manager.
