Treadwell was the 5th best receiver in the draft, Fuller was 1 or 2 with Coleman.

He is a PERFECT fit for what the Texans needed at WR.

He dropped 9 passes last year and also caught 14 TD's.

Good analysis. I would say he is not a fully polished receiver yet but I do see some good WR instincts and a good ability to track the ball in the air. He doesn't seem like a track star playing football. He seems like a legitimate receiver that is just big enough to be put on the outside or in the slot. Seems more well built than Desean Jackson or even Ted Ginn but he does have short arms. His routes are fairly crisp from what I have seen which is a really good sign. Have seen many "hands" catches as well as some shoulder pad catches which is a huge no-no. Has shown decent hands when he doesnt' try to basket catch. Coaches will need to beat that out of him. If he doesn't come back to the ball and use his hands he needs to be punished if he waits for it and jumps to catch on his shoulder pads.

Considering he apparently is a hard worker and enjoys football these are positives in my book so hopefully we are looking at a more complete player like Emanuel Sanders than early career Ted Ginn. early DeSean Jackson would not be a bad deal either if he was able to contribute quickly with his high end speed and then develop into a more complete receiver being able to take short and intermediate passes to the house or big gains.

Hopefully O'Brien has some solid plays set up to exploit his speed but also to keep DeAndre fairly clean to go deep himself. For us to be the team we want to be, every receiver on the field needs to have the ability to beat a team deep if in single coverage or if a mistake is made in the secondary. That is the dream at least. Here's to hoping they can develop this kid quickly.

So I heard his USC game was very poor and decided to watch it.

He only had about 2 catches, granted (I heard only 3). One of them was a 70+ yard TD pass, and there would have been two others that ended up being called for DPI as the cornerback desperately tackled him to the ground. Put those plays in the NFL and that puts our offense immediately in the redzone after penalty.

I need to watch more, but my early thoughts are this:

-Dude is actually a really decent pass-catcher
-Decent, not great, but willing blocker
-Will probably give us a 40+ yard DPI call every other game.
-This pick makes no sense if we were talent-deficient at wideout and RB (in which case Treadwell/Doctson is the pick). We aren’t, so instead he is a force multiplier on offense.

As long as he catches it, no. But the majority of his drops came from body catch attempts that bounced off his chest. Another issue is that PBUs are much easier on body catches versus catching the ball cleanly.

But all in all, Fuller has the ability to be a HUGE weapon for Brock. Him and Miller gives us speed this franchise has never had really.

I bet Hopkins is happy because it gives him more freedom on the field and that's all that matters

Fuller will be similar to Desean Jackson. He slipped to the 2nd rd because his hand weren't great. He turned out just fine
