He was twenty and spent around 13 years at Bayern.

First: Dortmund wouldn't have offered less salary, Dortmund fans just like to paint the picture of their poor club not being able to pay the players the same amount as Bayern, which is absolute rubbish. It's their way of rationalizing why players would leave their super duper awesome club and the amaaazing fans(hah) . You'll see the "he's a money worshipping b**** and traitor" narrative every time one of their good players leaves the club, it's pathetic.

Second: Munich is where he grew up and where he feels home. Almost all his friends and family members (plus wife's family) live there and Hummels spends most of his freetime in Munich.
It's the most plausible decision he could make, seeing how this will probably be his last big contract and chance at titles. You get the chance to spend your prime at Bayern, a top-3 club in the world and also where your home and friends+family are, no one would've refused that offer.

3rd: BVB fans don't want to face it, but the region and city is utter crap and also full of low-life trash, most people wouldn't want to live there. Munich is a 100x better place to live at. BVB fans aren't the kind of people you want to be around either.

Very low, but possible. Most of it will depend on Ancelotti's opinion on Götze. If Carlo doesn't want him as a starter, the chances of a transfer would be pretty high. Dortmund would make sense, but their fans are abysmal and were extremely aggressive when Götze left, so he may think twice about going back. If not Dortmund, Liverpool would make sense.

In my opinion, Bayern should extend his contract and then try to implement him into Ancelotti's system. Would boost Götze's confidence and also give us the option of selling him one or two years later in case it doesn't work out.

    It's like that?
Going all Hit em up on Dortmund lol. I wish we had some Dortmund fans or I knew some so I could get their take. Y'all should post some of the comments from Dortmund fans on here and translate for us.

Who should and then who will make way for Goetze in midfield if Carlo takes a liking to him?

I was a semi fan back then when Hitzfeld won the CL with Dortmund and Lars Ricken hit Juventus with a game winner (also a Juventus fan at that time)

They still got good players, but Bayern will always be FC Hollywood of the German league, that is tradition.

I got friends who are Schalke fans and they think Schalke is more simple worker friendly (lower class fans)

You have to know about the Ruhrpott are (Schalke and Dortmund and others) is an industrial area with coal mines..

sort of like Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine

I liked football clubs that have a blue collar mentality like Schalke and Dortmund actually surpassed that in course of time

You're making this way too easy. A lot of german clubs have tons of potential. Hamburg, Schalke, Stuttgart... but they're not making anything out of it. Right now Hertha holds the fourth spot without even winning 50% of their games. Is Bundesliga forseeable? In the last couple of years, yes. Is this Bayern's fault? No, because other teams don't bring that mentality and philosophy to really want to win and have a history of terrible management like the clubs I named. Even powerhouses like Dortmund say they're ok with second or third place and keep using Bayern's finances as an excuse.

Naming Wolfsburg as an example is a little weird, because the whole club is based on a global company behind them. With the millions in the background, nobody forced them to sell De Bruyne. In fact, Bayern was in the same situation when Real and Chelsea desperately tried to lure Ribéry away couple of years ago but remained strong.

Speaking of the system: Bayern could've pushed for a single marketing TV contract, so basicalley every team sells their own games, like they do in Spain, but refused to so do to keep the Bundesliga competetive. Smaller clubs, even in the minor leagues, benefit from that a lot.

Either that, or the big english clubs finally recognize that burning a lot of money without taking care of identification and chemistry won't lead to success.

As I said, that's basically on them. Remember when Dortmund was really competetive around the millenium? They suddenly became arrogant and careless and nearly ruined the whole club. Schalke, Leverkusen, Gladbach - they all could do so much better but don't bring consistency to the table.

What a fantastically horrible game against a lowly Swansea. Is it time to say Klopp is a little overrated? His lineup is questionable many times.

I know it doesn't help that Rodgers went and set the team back 15 years and shat on any pride we had left. But really, Klopp seems very stubborn... not the tactical Godsend that he was made out to be. But I guess you can't expect a high end meal if given only microwave dishes at your disposal.

Disappointing that we had SO MANY holes and needs at every position, yet Klopp didn't do anything in January. Maybe it had something to do with the ownership behind the scenes, but I don't see him surviving past next season if he delivers a 7-11 place after a full summer window.

Looking back though, his "heavy metal football" comment made when he arrived was a little lulz.

Give Klopp some time to get the player he really wants and that fit into his system and you will have at least two very good seasons.

Media is speculating about Köln's Timo Horn as your new goalkeeper. Would be a great signing.

Personally, I think Klopp is overrated. Above average coach, but difficult personality. Raz is right, though, you cannot expect immediate results. He needs to have the opportunity to get his players first.

Insane. Wish it would've happened with them on the field, but I imagine the pubs in Leicester are getting LIT tonight.

Is this the greatest, most inexplicable championship in the history of sports?

Fun to see. I imagine ESPN will quickly put together a 30 for 30 on Leicester City.

Seemingly bad team magically avoids relegation and then manages to shoot to the top of the table and win the Premier League with a new manager who was recently fired.

The details make it so much better: their record-breaking striker was in the fifth division a few years ago; their manager was fired by Greece after losing to the Faroe Islands; they were in the third division only a few years ago. It goes on and on. Really doubt we'll ever see something like this again.

Do fans in Europe expect an offseason fire sale of this team, like when the Florida Marlins won the World Series? For all of their magic, it is difficult to imagine them competing at all in Champions League. But all of this was difficult to imagine a few months ago.

Really a 1 in a million type result. Chelsea, Man U, Man City, Arsenal all bogged down by various issues. Tottenham should be kicking themselves for the rest of their existence for blowing their chance.
