News: Dortmund just officially announced that Hummels wants to play for Bayern next season. They are required to do this ad-hoc announcement because of the possible impact on their market share prices. This pretty much seals the deal, nice addition to our team. Wasn't a big Hummels fan because of turnovers, but he's been a beast this season and is the best playmaking CB on the planet. Also great for our national team to have the Boateng&Hummels duo play together all year.
You kinda knew regarding his last comments. Excellent for Bayern, this should solve our defensive issues. Hummels next Boateng with an italian coach can be record breaking material. I hope Ancelotti brings Martínez back to central midfield. Neuer Lahm - Boateng - Hummels - Alaba Martínez - Vidal Good luck trying! Best thing alongside this is butthurt Dortmund fans on social media.
Three players in four years changing from the second best team to the best team in Germany. What a sad testament to the Bundesliga.
True, our defense could be beasting. Agree regarding Dortmund fans, too funny to read the comments. "Bayern destroying their biggest opponent again mimimi" "Bundesliga will never be exciting again mimimi" "Bayern already has good defenders, they're just doing this to screw Dortmund mimimi" "THEY COULD JUST BUY STARS FROM OTHER LEAGUES INSTEAD BUT NOOO GOTTA HURT THEIR FIERCE COMPETITORS AND RUIN THE LEAGUE"
Skimming through the user posts on Hummels' Facebook site, oh lawd. BVB-fans really are some of the biggest a-holes on the planet.
Oh, come on. Every team signs players from other clubs. Dortmund usually takes away young players from small teams like Freiburg and Mainz. Plus, they wouldn't have been able to keep Götze, Lewandowski and Hummels anyways. Let's not forget, Hummels and Götze both have roots here. Hummels played for Bayern all his youth, his family still lives there, his wife is from Munich. He's actually coming home.
Did you know Götze's little brother had to be escorted home from school in Dortmund by police when his transfer came out? Older kids threatened to kill him. That's what people there are like, one of the biggest ****holes in the whole country. Will be interesting to see the reactions on Saturday.
Oh come on. Freiburg and Mainz, you can't be serious. Emphasis on from the second best to the best team in the country. No matter how much Bayern fans come with these ridiculous statements like: look once upon a time Figo went to Real or Van Persie went to Manchester United. This is a regular thing from Bayern. Three times in four years now from their biggest competitor. This is not the first time either: 01-04: Lucio, Ze Roberto, Ballack and Kovac - Leverkusen 05-08: Ismäel, Klose, Borowski - Werder 13-16: Götze, Lewandowski, Hummels - BVB Look, Bayern is a great team. All I'm saying is that it's a sad testament to a league when this keeps happening. Bayern are dominant, too dominant for the casual outsider like me. I like to see close, exciting games with big rivals and follow the last few weeks with the thought of "who will run away with it". I think Dortmund can overcome this though. Never really rated Hummels. But it would be nice if Dortmund could keep their players and we might have more excitement in the Bundesliga.
The thing is, all three of those guys would've left Dortmund anyways. Think Dortmund would be better off if those guys leave for Spain & England and Bayern then buys international stars for 50+mil? Would make Dortmund's situation not one bit better. Why the hell would Bayern let these guys leave the league for cheap and then sign non-native guys for much higher transfer sums?
Does it matter if it's the second best or the third, fourth, whatever team? I don't see the point. Plus, Dortmund hasn't been the second best team the whole time, last year Wolfsburg finished second and won the cup. Bayern didn't sign any player from them, in fact De Bruyne moved to Manchester just like Götze, Lewandowski and Hummels could've chosen to do so. Bayern can't stay away from great players just because they're on a rival squad. It is not Bayern's fault that other teams can't compete. You can't tell me Dortmund struggled last two season because they lost two players in Lewandowski and Götze. It's also not Bayern's fault that other big clubs in Germany are unable to get **** done. Look at Schalke: Big club with huge potential but terrible management. Is Bayern supposed to weaken themselves to keep the race open?
The entire Bundesliga is a farm system for Bayern. The only talent to escape this monopoly has been De Bruyne, which required Arab money overpaying his market value at the time. Until Germany secures a decent sized tv contract - and you have to change the pace and style of play for it to be marketable to non Germans - it's not going to be interesting to follow domestically. Youll keep getting excuses from front runner fans, and a system that ensures Bayern can compete for the UEFA trophy each year. Ultimately, it's far more important than revenue pooling and a hard cap to keep things competitive domestically. Any team with a successful season like Wolfsburg will be gutted as soon as the off season hits . . so what's the point for a fan? No coincidence that an injection of revenue from upcoming EPL tv deal has made it more unpredictable than ever. Imagine the likes of Ranieri agreeing to coach Leicester 5 years ago.
Sure there are some douches among Ruhrpotters but I think it never happened that 3 or 4 Bayern players went over (defecting) to Dortmund and fans were ok with that And remember Sammer was a BVB legend. And might still be.
In addition: What I heard about Wolfsburg and their full house sale is going to be sad One year after a good performance in the CL, not so good in the league that is extreme
I really enjoy the English league where everything is open. Bayern has been a monopoly for elite players and elite coaches since forever (I can only remember from the Beckenbauer era onwards) It is a testament to their management for sure Does not mean they are guaranteed winning titles every year by landslides (PSG now in France) but they will surely be winning most of the titles It is not really funny for other teams, competition goes shet to be honest with you Again, it isn't all their fault but it is what it is.
Here is a photo that says everything about how that goal happened and who was responsible - Guardiola - by playing his Spanish favorites, over world champions Müller and Götze (yes, I think he should have played over Thiago, who did nothing).
Bayerm brehs, (putting aside my dislike for this move by Hummels and Bayern going back to the Dortmund for more supplies) I thought Hummels and his father hated Bayern after he left as he didn't leave on good terms? For the longest time he's talked about his Bayern dislike, blah blah staying with Dortmund and now this u-turn. What gives, other than more money and his lady being from there (or whatever her relationship is with Munich)? Is it just a case of an offer he couldn't refuse?
