Tell that to Gregg Popovich. You think he will change his system if the Spurs acquired someone like Harden?

Movement sucks - period.... As I said coaching has been deplorable...

Otoh... if Harden is going to through a no look pass to the corner (expecting someone to be there) - then moving really isn't an option oftentimes.... the whole system sucks....

My point is: Watching the game itself is also a tool. It seems like many posters on the GARM forgot that.

There is also something that Van Gundy alluded to the other night. It's great to gear your offense to get to the rim and shoot 3's, but those are the hardest shots to get. It's like a boxer who only goes for haymakers without softening up the opponent with jabs. Our style of play is too easy to defend. Someone as gifted as Harden can still get his points in that framework but the other players are always playing right into the teeth of the defense.

Curry is surrounded by good 2 way players and good coach. Not a impossible task to do.

Stats are trailing indicators if you watch the game you can see how often Harden has the ball.

What if Harden gives up the ball? Can Dwight, Ariza and Beverly can create offense by themselves? Or do they need someone like Harden to feed them with good passes?

So you are saying they wouldn't want to acquire allegedly one of the great offensive talents this game has ever seen?

That kind of proves that Harden's style isn't conducive to being a 60+ win juggernaut like the Warriors or Spurs.

if they got him for free of course any team would but they aren't going to go out and pursue him as a #1 priority to build around.

find a really good offensive players so that your team can win despite not being so good on defense (like OKC), or find 2 way players to surround your main guy (like GSW).

you can go either way, and it's not impossible thing to do. the problem is Morey has done shi**ty job of doing that. Dwight, Ariza and Beverly are all overrated defenders and trash on offense.

It's not about Harden 'giving up the ball' just so another player can iso. It's about a system where there is spacing and movement. It's a system where when Harden doesn't have the ball, he just doesn't stand there watching Trevor Ariza perform an iso play.

    ball movement sucks....

This team rarely works the ball around the perimeter to get to the open man or a mismatch - it just doesnt happen - which is fundamental basketball...

harden will pass the ball - if he thinks he can get an assist added to his stat line - hence the turnovers... Harden would rather try to thread the needle to pass the ball to a guy at the rim (and get a turnover) than just work the ball around waiting for a defensive lapse...

As I said, that applies to all of our players so direct your blame at our coaching.

yeah ok its so easy. you really sound delusional. This isn't a video game where you just plug and play players and think it automatically works. You were nowhere to be found last year and apparently you want to come out and play the morey shouldn't have done this role now. typical. there's a coincidental abundance of this going on within the last 24 hrs.

so declining Dwight, Ariza and Beverly is the best we could do? you're the one that seems delusional. do you think we would not get better this off season, once we ditch scrubs on this team?

what are you talking about? so none of those 3 should have been back this year after what this team did last season. calling someone else delusional when you aren't even making any sense yourself. comical. You're sitting there with hindsight ignorance thinking that you saw this from the beginning. Please
