Very doubtful; it could happen but it would be a big mistake unless you got someone good lined up. More than likely, you'd be taking a bigger gamble by letting Morey go with Harden able to walk away after next year.
Nope. Basketball is more complicated than one man who doesn't even have the final say in things. But keep tryin moron.
Goodbye Morey - you did some good, and you did some bad. As I said, hiring McHale was a mistake, and ultimately the enabling culture you built has led to this. Hopefully you get another chance somewhere else, sometimes it takes being fired to be a better employee. DD
Lol funny coming from a guy who keeps getting owned own his board by everyone when it comes to basketball knowledge. Stupid idiot.
I don't see why it's a gamble letting Morey go. Like he's the only one capable of being a GM? Also, if this organization is going to make a concerted effort to change their public image which has been brutalized this season, it has to start with firing Morey.
This organization desperately needs a new culture and vibe. The blame doesn't fall completely on Morey but he has his fare share of it. Time to move on.
Yawn.... Clearly you aren't the basketball guy... Just another moron who can just say moronic things with nothing to back it up.
Of course not. Do you want someone who is merely capable though? Why? It seems to me Morey's fingerprints are all over the league from analytics, to contract structuring, to scouting.
How is it 100% the GMs fault when the GM doesn't have 100% of the control? Riddle me that or run away like a coward.
I want someone capable of selecting players wisely with first round picks. I want someone capable of filling the roster with guys who can actually make jump shots, free throws, and layups. I want someone capable of hiring a head coach who can implement a coherent offensive and defensive system. I want someone capable of understanding the importance of coaching, chemistry, and culture in a basketball organization. Right now, Morey doesn't meet any of those requirements.
How many of our first rounders are in the playoffs this year? List for me where the Rockets have ranked in offensive efficiency under Morey. Morey doesn't hire, Les does. Go re-read the recent Chron article on JVG, it seems there's a lot of confusion on what Morey does exactly and what type of control he has. And Morey doesn't? Are we completely forgetting the pre-Harden era where we had grit, effort, energy, and chemistry but were stuck in mediocrity? Are we forgetting Harden's first season? SAS and Spurs have masterfully combined your theme of 3 above but it's not very easy to do. Right now you aren't thinking clearly. A lot of folks aren't thinking clearly and forgetting a lot of Rockets knowledge.
He is responsible for a lot of the problems with this team, and needs to go IMO, but I disagree that he is 100% at fault. You can never predict when a player will regress and unfortunately the Rockets had multiple players regress this season. When it comes down to it we only really disagree on how much blame he deserves, but at the end of the day we both see he needs to go. Rockets need to clean house ASAP.
