I mean they were on a boat, very possible that they didn't have ravens and so Cersei wasn't informed.
And no one noticed? Assuming they had to have boarded them in the ocean because there was no other boat in the harbor. Jamie and Bronn are on that ship and they don't notice getting boarded? The Princess Myrcella has just died on the boat and Jamie gets off to go tell Cersei and LEAVES Tristane on board? And Tristane is so stupid that he turns his back to someone who just told him that they are going to kill him? Ellaria Sand had the entire Dornish security force under her control except for one bodyguard and one messenger? All the palace guards and all the guards who should have been on the ship guarding Tristane? They all worked for her and were ready to murder their rightful prince and his heir to install a mistress? And despite having all of that power she was afraid of Doran's wrath last season? She had to already have the power when he threatened her because she controlled the men on the ship. Let's just agree guys; the Dornish storyline was a big waste of time. It was poorly thought out and poorly written. Either because the show writers hated what GRRM did with it, or his stuff was stupid and was going nowhere, but basically they seemed committed to it with a good actor casting and then burned it all to the ground with really stupid plot lines.
Maybe the dialogue should have gone like this: "Are you here to kidnap me?" "We're not here to kidnap you; we're here to kill you. Do you want to know exactly how we got here?" "No, not really. I..." "We got here on a smaller, speedier boat. We had the boat docked nearby when you and Myrcella and Jaime Lannister left Dorne, so we were able to quickly get on the boat which we had loaded earlier with food, clothing, and blankets. The ride was a bit rough but we made due. We were sure to keep a safe distance when Jaime and Bronn were still on board, but they've been gone for a while so we figured now would be a good time to make our move. Our men on your ship never told you when they saw us coming because they hate your father. Just a few minutes ago we finally approached this ship; our men tossed a rope-ladder down to us and we climbed up it while carrying these - *show weapons* - and now, using these weapons, we plan to kill you. So... me, or her?" "You."
Its a tv show... and yes, the whole Dorne premise hasn't really gone anywhere (yet), but at the same time, is not worth this nitpick level either (and if it is worth this nitpick level, then there must be some inherent interest into whats going on there).
Only Jaime, Bronn, & Tristane would have mattered, and it is very possible none of them were on deck at the time boarded. I thought it was weird Tritane would stay behind, but Jaime would have been smart to leave him on board. Could you imagine Cersei's reaction to seeing him after what just happened to her daughter? She would want him dead.
Forgot to add that she would have added: "The reason our boat isn't in the harbor is because we sunk it as we got on the rope ladder. The reason all of the guards who hate your father so much have waited until now to act when a few weeks ago they beat us up and watched as Doran humiliated our mother is because LOLs are the best. The reason we did this entire stupid scenario instead of just committing the treason on land is because wanted to make sure that Jamie Lannister escaped instead of either killing or using him as a ransom piece. Why? Again because LOL are you stupid? This is all for giggles half-cuz! Now, me or her kill you?"
The whole Dorne coup was very silly. All the guards are like "oh, Shaq and the king are dead. Oh well, carry on".
I'm going to stop. I enjoyed the episode and am intrigued for the rest of the season minus Dorne. I feel like it's been stupid from day 1 so I hope they just end it.
So, the message that reached back to Dorne was only sent after they got back to Kings landing? Isn't it a pretty long trek as is? Isn't there a possibility that they stop at some place along the way to re-supply/re-stock (and send messages as needed)?
Well, they did explain that... in the form that the guards don't respect the current leadership because he didn't do anything.
I was disappointed in how easily Shaq was killed. Ideally a fight between him and the guards / Sand Snakes would have happened, but the women they casted as the Sand Snakes aren't really believable as fighters. So a fight between them and Shaq might have looked ridiculous.
I still can't believe the Sand Snakes casting. They should have went with MMA fighters with acting chops or at least women who actually might have lifted anything heavier than 10 lb weights before.
Yeah I bet the casting folks wish they could have a do-over on that. One of them is somewhat physical looking, but the other two... no. I would pick Cersei to win in a fist fight against them.
The Dorne storyline that was just irratating Basically they just closed off that loop cause they had no idea what to do with it Rocket River
One last thing about Dorne So . . . DORNE and High Garden should be aligned to kill Lannisters right? Rocket River
