The last time the Sand Snakes ruined storylines, we got a pretty good rated R scene. So they better be lezzing out hard by the halfway point or I'm gonna go into conniptions. Doran and flipping Areo Hotah were supposed to be such badasses.

Mel's disenfranchisement explanation makes sense, I just thought this was her nightly ritual, since she has taken off the necklace before. She should know that her god has power in this aspect of life/death, the error has only been in her interpretation of the fires.

Part of my worry about Jon coming back through the Red god was that he'd be different. But maybe if it's a life for a life with Mel sacrificing herself Jon doesn't get corrupted, or maybe the Red god is part of the good guys.

It's like the showrunners decided to draw a hard line in the sand to show they're blazing their trail from the book. People hated Meereen almost universally, let's draw up more intrigue there. People liked Jamie turning good guy, let's get him back with Cersei on a revenge tour. People liked Dorne, let's have the Sand Snakes poop in their cereal.

I wonder what happens with Margaery.

If I remember correctly, she asked Stannis' wife for a potion before entering the tub.

THe dorne storyline feels like it was a giant waste of time. They eliminated a great house so casually.

House Baratheon and house Martel now both extinct. Amazing.

What happened to the hounds chasing after Sansa and Theon? Did I miss something or did they just disappear when Brianne showed up?

Btw, Oberyn (especially the actor) set the bar so high for that family - what followed after that and in this episode is really despressing. Waste of a brilliant casting, should've never killed the guy off.

Maybe they didn't want to show dogs dying (because of PETA crap), so let's assume they ran away and live a happy life.

After that Sansa rape scene backlash, I wouldn't put it past them

Khaleesi rattling off her titles and then getting put in her place was sweet. "Do you know who I am?" doesn't work too well with the Dothraki. At least she found out that stating she's a Khal's widow will keep her from getting attacked in the butt.

So now that Grantland is extinct does anyone know of a good, informative, non-spoilery podcast that recaps recent Game of Thrones episodes?

    Ringer

Go visit the Ringer. It's under the same management (Bill Simmons) and he brought his Game of Thrones staff along with him. @Ringer is the twitter handle. They have podcasts and a new show on HBO that will recap episodes called After The Thrones. It should be out sometime today if you have HBO.

All I know is my dog would have been like, oh look at that leaf blowing in the wind over there, oh I need to piss on that tree, is that a squire!?!

There is so much to get packed into such a short episode that do we really need to spend time telling the story of what happened to the hounds after the fight ensued?

You missed it. She enters the room and sees Jon. She left obviously, and Davos later said that they can use her to escape potentially.

You missed it. It was brief but happened.

That was a great episode. I was locked in from the get go.

Not a book reader so don't have any conflicting thoughts about storyline. Can just watch and appreciate. And man it was so good and jam packed.

    So, another major plothole.

At the end of Season 5 when Ellaria Sand poisons Myrcella, you see the boat leave with Myrcella and Tristane on it and Myrcella is dying. It cuts back to Dorne and you see Ellaria with her three daughters. All of them still at Dorne, on the docks, with the three daughters in gowns.

Jump to start of Season 6...
Somehow two of the daughters are now on the boat with Tristane to kill him outside of King's Landing and are in full sand snake gear? LOL WUT?

I always liked Entertainment Weekly's recaps. They have the right amount of snark and sarcasm to be amusing reads.
It's one of those detail oversights that isn't large, but noticed if ignored. They addressed the hounds multiple times: Ramsay said his best hounds are hunting them, Reek said it's better to cross the frozen river than let the hounds maul you, and the hounds were right up in Sansa's face. They were a big threat, and s soon as Brienne showed up, poof, the hounds disappeared.
