    It's just one game...

...but anyway i love D.Mo, and frankly, he's one of the few (one/two) smart players on this team, you always need guys able to play with brain, he's a good player also cause he can do the little things (move the ball, take a charge...) so yeah, i would love to have him back, but i think we need to dump one between him, Ariza and Beverley to make room for two max contracts, so i wouldn't hold my breath at the end, cap situation + back problems + the fact that someone can still throw double digit money to him...eh...i just hope nobody will and he stays but we'll see.

Wasn't D-Mo decent at the defensive end last season? Any defensive shortcomings he has this year may have more to do with the entire team sucking in that area than his own inability to play D.

They all looked pretty pissed off, most likely from that previous turnover. Pretty sure it was more about staying focused.

If I was building a team around a player like harden, Dmo is easily the guy I want to have. This guy does all the dirty work for this team.

He is starter quality, but not a stat stuffing all star. Dmo was running around last night setting everyone a screen. On ball or off ball he helped move the ball more then anyone else on this team. Of course his threes helped as well

Everyone complains about him not getting enough rebounds, but does any every notice that he boxes out and just lets one of his guards grab the rebound?

The dude is a championship caliber player. I'm sure someone will take him away this off season on a reasonable deal. I will miss him.

You can say the same thing about a lot of other players on the team.

So, like a Super Role player, yes?

DMo is the X factor, but the coach needs to play him and yes, he is not going to be able to stay in front of players that have him on lateral quickness - never will, but the more he plays the more comfortable he gets and the better he plays.

For whatever reason he improves with playing time.

Morey's mission should be too try and find 3 other players with DMo's qualities at the other 3 positions to surround Harden with.

You are exactly right. He moves the ball well, it never gets sticky unless he has a chance at a post up. He sets solid screens and either rolls if it is available or sets up for a 3. He mostly plays solid pick n roll defense. He takes charges and clogs the lane when necessary. He boxes out and puts a body on someone. He is versatile and can play multiple positions. He is a solid 3 point shooter for his position. He does have some shortcomings mainly because of his injury (slow feet on close outs, lost touch a little on post ups) but all in all he is a pretty complete player that plays hard every play.

Morey take notes this is the type of player we need next to Harden at all positions, even off the bench. It is a shame he is not in ideal shape due to his injury but maybe he is starting to round into form. He has definitely lost his touch a little and some speed but give me DMo over Dwight next year on a fairly reasonable contract.

Morey tried to move him - we don't pay role players - we flip them.

This is one of the biggest flaws in Morey's approach.

good. Dmo is a rookie when it comes to playoffs but its far from over. His reaction was exactly what someone who hasn't experienced playoffs would be

DMo is a keeper. How many 7 footers in the league can legitematly shoot 3's, post up and finish in tbe paint with both hands, and runs the court? Anyone not mamed Nowitzki.

I like him. I think JVG would like him (if he's the guy) - but I do not trust players with multiple back surgeries. Because of that you're capped on what you can reasonably offer. That Pistons 1st rounder made the most sense.

And me, personally, I'll take defensive rebounding over range any day from my 4. He had a good rebounding game, sure, but he is not a good rebounder.

Yup, people forget when dwert went down last year, DMo was guarding other teams bigs and rotating very efficiently on help side defense.

The bottom line here is that we all like Dmo, but this team cannot tie its cap space up for a player like Dmo, when we are in serious need of talent upgrades across the board. It simply does not make sense to lock up up a mediocre team for the long term, when doing so precludes you having the cap space to add serious talent.

The most likely scenario is that Dmo receives a large offer in free agency and we do not match it, while pursuing bigger fish or "kicking the can" another year if we strike out. People need to come to terms with this.

I would love to have DMO and Beasley next year. That's a good combo with both having ability to score.

TJones and JSmoove will be or should be gone.

Remember when people were bashing Morey for not keeping Josh Smith and thought getting him back would have made a difference to this season?

Really great game from DMo last night. Loved his 13 rebounds. Just very active. I would like to keep DMo, but there is an opportunity cost here that has to be weighed.

If the Rockets want cap space for 2 MAX FAs, they are going to have to renounce DMo's cap hold and he will be gone.

DMo's trade was voided b/c he failed Detroit's "physical". Based on that and his production this season, how many teams do you really think will give DMo a large, multi-year offer?

They won't have much cap space tied up with his cap hold and they can generate cap space by getting rid of dead weight like Terrence Jones or finding some sucker to take Corey Brewer.

The Rockets can create space for 2 max contracts, sign them, and then afterwards use Bird rights to sign DMo something similar to what the Spurs did with Kawhi Leonard last off-season. Obviously DMo isn't a Kahwi Leonard quality player, I was just using it as an example of how you can order the signings to get both cap space and a player re-signed.

One of the worst circlejerks I've ever seen on the bbs

    ----------

By the way, I'd just like to point out that 5 of DMo's boards were offensive rebounds!
