That is why I think he plays in the Olympics, the Rockets are not really utilizing his skillset that well, so if he has a good Olympics you could see the more team oriented organizations chasing him. DD
I agree. Someone is going to take a low risk gamble on him that is likely much higher than his QO. Which in that case, I'd think the Rockets would be smart to match so the low risk gamble offer might be slightly higher than normal, and earlier than you'd think in FA knowing that the Rockets will have their free agency cap tied up waiting on Durant/Horford. I think the Derrick Williams signing is a good one to reference.
I trust you more than I trust me on this. Still, I am skeptical. Seems like he's about a 7th or 8th man in an average team's rotation with a very real risk of not being able to maintain that level of play for long due to the back. Too risky without enough upside. I hope he stays with the Rockets for a fair price.
He actually is not for his position, but switching on Thomson is a dumb idea. No seven footer can defend his jump shooting and be able to defend the driver. JB stupid defense need to stop switching everything.
This was not just JBB philosophy. No no no it was McHale's philosophy as well. Reward back to last season and last post season. Now when DMo was healthy, that scrappy switch everything defense was top 10. They knew they didn't have a rim protector to cover up for some of their mistakes. So they all including Harden scrapped and fought their butts off defensively. But once Howard came back, they stopped hustling and scrapping, why: because they figured they could afford to half step again. Howard would be there to clean up. Hmmmm but as we could see Howard doesn't have that type of get up like that anymore. Dmo doesn't have that lateral quickness right now. Back then he was able to get to his spot to take those charges.
Can do no wrong in a few eyes around here. Had the perfect all around game. Darn JBB had to mess it up by not playing him 30 minutes.
I just don't understand how he ends up on the floor as much as he does. When he first was playing, I thought it was because he was too light, but I think he just doesn't have great balance. He is always getting off the floor, and not in a Dennis Rodman just dove for the loose ball kind of way. He's clearly not the same post-injury, which is a shame.
I mean he was 5-11 with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Not sure why anyone would complain about him tonight of all nights.
He got destroyed by Speights and generally all of the Warriors in the 3rd/4th when they came back. but... Props to DMO for making some good defensive plays at the end of the game. Shake it off.
