Now would JVG prefer lakers over rockets. He has praised russell the snitch before I think something along the lines of he would like to coach him.

I just hope we find a way to get Mario Ellie on the coaching staff. Really would like to see his influence on the team

Bull said it best today on 790:

We need someone who can coach James Harden. The same way Rudy T. was able to coach Hakeem. We need the same for James.

That isn't because Curry is a good defender, it is because GS has excellent rotations and switches. One on one, Curry is a defensive liability. I am not picking on Curry; Westbrook doesn't guard anyone either.

I haven't read through the last few pages, but did Cyber still stay true to JVG not being interested whatsoever?

Last I heard was there is some interest, but JVG is ALWAYS the silent type with this stuff. NO WAY he even discusses it with the Rockets still in the playoffs and with his immense respect for BOTH JB and Bern. JVG respects the Bickerstaff family, and it's common knowledge. You hear him mention it all the time.

Despite this season and even though the GARM may imply otherwise, Bernie and JB are very well-respected throughout the league. Bernie is a staple in the NBA coaching community and JB has paid his dues, but without the same success and experience.

Anyway, I doubt JB would jump out of his seat for an assistant job, but if nothing opened up, I could see him being involved in some aspect of the Rockets next season. That is, unless DM and and LA completely clean house.

Glad Scottie is off the table...but that also creates more competition for Durant.

If Kev pulls a LeBron and goes home, Scott will be there with open arms. That was a definite power play by the Wiz mgmt. An obvious one...but I have to think they believe in Brooks' coaching beyond an appeal to bring in Durant.

My friend in DC said the locker room was "tired." The mix of vets and youth didn't have the best relationship. Different approaches to the game, different focus. It makes sense when you look at the contracts on that team. They have some nice pieces, but PLENTY of room to create a new look.

Wall needs some help, and he must have a better year to solidify the franchise player tag. Bradley is a stud, but someone has to light a fire in him. Paul Pierce couldn't do it (said he tried)...I wonder who can.

Wall/Durant would be interesting, but I don't think it's better than WB/Durant. But, it would finally give Kevin the green light to go back into Easy Money Sniper mode. When he finally gets away from WB dominating the ball, I think KD is going to come back into the limelight with a greater vengeance than we've seen. He has it in him, but the talent in OKC lends itself to him sharing the ball more. That can be viewed in a variety of ways, but I don't think KD is scoring anywhere close to what he's capable of doing. (Just a personal feeling....)

Yesterday's victory could change the scenario for the new coach or still the same way?

No way, if anything it affirmed the rockets need of a veteran coach. Jbb practically gave the gamr away with that coaching.

You mean the scenario of JB not being replaced? Cuz last night changes nothing. Get back to me when the Rockets actually pull off the upset or at least go down in a hard fought 7-game series(with Curry playing in most of it). Then we can all have a discussion over whether or not JB's earned another shot.

I don't think you do or you wouldn't have made the previous post. Akeem was crazy, he'd punch everybody. Didn't put it together until his 30's Hakeem version.

Curious what your feelings on how a Harden/Durant combo would be like since it seems like Harden needs the ball in his hands as much as WB.

According to Feigen, JVG has refuted this directly and would like to coach the Rockets if he is going to coach again at all.

I love inside info and I miss Doc Rocket's presence on the board...but I'm curious as to which stories cyberx has broken?

See this is what I keep thinking too. I don't think Durant leaves WB to be behind WB lite on another team. If Durant leaves there has to be something that that team has over the Thunder, not an emulation of them. Of course I'm biased, but I think Durant gets a different type of team here in Houston, and that could be a better draw. At the end of the day, I still think WB is the best player in the association, regardless of ESPN's fascination with Curry. Leaving that behind, well that's astronomically hard.

Asik not being matched was his one sure fire hit. He wavered on Dwight throughout the whole process, but he did post that Dwight was interested. He did post don't be surprised at JVG then he posted this thread. His sources are legit but he doesn't have the same journalistic requirement that a surefire guy like Woj has. We are getting raw information from Cyber and it's truly a gift. I wouldn't expect but about 90% of his information to come to fruition, but it's great to hear what front offices are thinking. I'm really hoping he becomes more active again soon because Durant is going to be a whirlwind.

That's true, but Harden is a smarter player than Westbrick, i bet Durant knows this very well.

Well the thing Durant could have here is Harden PLUS an additional max FA guy. That's a lot better than OKC can offer. They can offer him one more season of the status quo before Westbrook bails on them for a major market.
