WWE legend Chyna -- real name Joanie Laurer -- has died ... and officials are investigating as a possible overdose, TMZ Sports has learned.

We've learned she was in her apartment in Redondo Beach, CA ... south of L.A. -- and police got the call around 7:30 PM. Our law enforcement sources say she had not been seen or heard from for a few days. A friend went to check on her today and found her unresponsive in the bedroom of her home and made the call to police.

Wow, even though it was always expected she would go out this way, I expected this to happen a long time ago. RIP

I've yet to see this movie

Her "little man in the boat" is more like "dude with a big-ass yacht."

All those drugs caught up with her no doubt.

She was a pioneer back in the WWF days. First and only female Intercontinental Champion. Sad stuff

was thinking this was going to happen soon since she was a no show at Wrestlecon during Wrestlemania, the promoter put this on the site

sucks that WWE and her didn't make up before her passing

I heard she even made a scene with Triple H at Piper's funeral while some were wondering why she was even at the funeral since she wasn't close to Rowdy

    RIP

There is a youtube video she uploaded about a week ago where she looked pretty rough. I'll try to find a link to it.

Sad. I heard she was a good and nice person
I was not a big wrestling fan during her time but even i knew of her

Fans were not kind to her
and it seems like the business wasn't either

I often wonder how come it is so hard to leave the spot light.
I don't know her whole story but I am sad for her passing

Rest in Peace, Joanie "Chyna" Laurer

Sad. RIP. Looks like the life style she lived finally caught up to her.

The couple of years I watched wrestling was back when she was active in it.

Sad, but what in the hell did i just watch?

Hearing her gulp down all of that made me sick to my stomach. It was disgusting...whatever she was doing. I need to read more, but she was drooling all over herself and had half of the damn smoothie hanging out on her face. The repeated discussion of a "beautiful day" shows what all of those various substances did to her cognitive functioning. My goodness.

I hope Chyna is in some sort of peace. She was living her own personal hell.

She is donating her brain to science. It might shed light on the damage of drug use.

I wonder if Mick Foley will donate his brain as well. He took a lot of unprotected chair shots to the head. The Sports Legacy Institute looked at Chris Benoit's brain after his murder/suicide and found it was so severely damaged it resembled the brain of an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient. It's not surprising since his finishing move consisted of jumping off the top rope and hitting his opponent with his forehead.
