This man is done with the NBA. He's been there and done that. He knows the rigged gimmick nature of the league. He's never coaching in this league again unless somehow he goes broke.

Kerr pulled a lot of strings and turned a mediocre team into an unstoppable juggernaut. But yes, the pieces were all there. The transformation was huge though.

Gentry I never understood. He's coached before. You know what you're getting with him.

47(2nd rd) & 51(1st rd) wins is mediocre?

No, Mark Jackson took over a bad-mediocre team and made them good. Kerr took over for Jackson and made them great.

Phil had the triangle offense, Adelman has the Princeton offense, Shane will have the take charge offense. I'm ready for this.

I know...who else...who else could have learned from the Zen Master. Who has unparalleled dedication to the game and knows how to win?

Also a man that Durant looks up to, so much so that if you say something bad about him he'll come flying out of nowhere to defend?

Yes, that's an incredible improvement - what Kerr did. Pre & post Kerr GSW teams are night and day. He gets the credit. Proof is in the pudding. Deal with it and accept your overlord.

I don't see y'alls beloved Doc Rivers doing anything with the Clippers. I don't see y'alls beloved George Karl getting the Kings into the playoffs.

Agreed, the level that they've risen to under Kerr is remarkable, and getting from good to great is the hardest step. Just look at OKC.

Cool. So he would have done the same with the Knicks [before spurning them]?

There is a very high correlation between number of Warriors wins and the trajectory of Draymond Green's career.

Kerr is a good coach, but the Warriors are a team full of smart players who basically coach themselves.

The best move he ever made was David Lee getting injured and starting Draymond Green, year 1.

Then handing the keys to the offense to Draymond Green year 2.

Don't think he's ready. I'd give Sam Cassell a shot before Battier. BTW, don't you find all the JVG for coach threads just a tad bit funny? I suppose that desperate times call for desperate measures but whomever the poor schmuck is who gets hired will be facing a huge team overhaul that could take years. Meanwhile, the top teams in the West stand to be getting even better while the Rockets are (once again) in disarray. Seems like old times...

Coaching accounts for a +- 5 games difference.

    Totally agree with you....

Kerr is Gruden of the NFL....

Mark changed the entire culture and mindset of that team and he deserves so much credit for the transformation... I can't take anything away from Kerr, but Mark deserve more credit than what he gets..

My stance is - don't take something away from him that he has earned in convincing fashion.

Your stance - let's downgrade him based on a hypothetical.

We should just try to get Murphy to be our coach
