BTW- Durant is a great talent, but he is also a flawed player - doesn't play defense that well, has become much more perimeter oriented, and doesn't really lead a team. We should still try though, his talent is undeniable, but we still need a STRONG coach. DD
Lol at Rocket fans nit picking Durant. Dude had an insane year. 28 ppg on .634 ts%. Almost a 50/40/90 year. 8 rebounds per game. And no he's not an elite defender but he's by no means bad. There's a HUGE difference between being an OK defender and not trying at all.
It wouldn't disappoint me AT ALL if we stopped swinging for the fences and built a solid team with a Harden, a couple of borderline all-star players, and youngish above average role players. Of course this only works if you have a really strong/strict coach. You've got to build a solid foundation to lure other stars.
I disagree personally, Durant is not an alpha dog. Harden showed he has that mentality in the past. But it will be interesting to see how it plays out if we land him
