MLB Rumor Central: Lance McCullers making progress Apr 18, 2016 ESPN.com The Houston Astros' rotation could soon receive a boost in the form of Lance McCullers' return. McCullers (shoulder) played catch on Sunday and felt good afterward, Astros manager A.J. Hinch told reporters, including Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle. The team expects to begin increasing McCullers' throwing program over the next couple days and could soon send him out on rehab again. McCullers was scratched from a rehab start last Saturday due to lingering recovery issues from his Apr. 11 start with Double-A Corpus Christi, Hinch said. "The good news about only being a couple days past his start is we don't have to start over [with his throwing program]," Hinch said. "So he can jump right back into [bullpen sessions] and hopefully get out to a rehab start." Besides Dallas Keuchel and Scott Feldman, the Astros' rotation has struggled so far this season, posting a 4.94 ERA as a group. Needless to say, McCullers, who posted a 3.22 ERA as a rookie last season, will be a welcome addition to the team.
whoever wasn't panicking before this week will be after. this team has major holes that aren't going to magically close up. several changes need to be made. immediately.
They're not going to win many games with the 1-4 not producing (and the White double wasn't really a double). Gomez-Gattis-Gonzalez responsible for all of the runs.... Rasmus should have been in this lineup instead of Marisnick.
Predictable. Didn't like Fields coming in there to try to keep this game close. The team is struggling so far and so is Hinch. Devenski needs more pitching opportunities. He should be just relegated to long relief as well as he's been throwing.
... or not. Other than LMJ coming back and Reed being promoted, there aren't any other major moves they can make right now. Maybe they fire McHale?
We can always count on two things in Houston sports...GS dominating the Rockets and the Rangers dominating the Astros. It feels good dammit.
Perhaps... would hardly classify demoting the bullpen guy who usually only pitches when we're behind as a "major" move.
