ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Warriors 4/18/2016 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 2)

THIS explains our matchup with GSW during the season and series

 

I turned the TV off before halftime- knowing they would lose-but of course hoping I would be surprised in the morning.

Never mind that the team is not playing well and would be a huge upset if they beat the Warriors, but our COACH is not helping them at all. theres no doubt in my mind that if we had a real coach (Lets just say rick carlisle)for fun-
We would have won last nights game..

JB's rotation are just so bad? Very bad- to the point his embarrassing.
If Josh smith is on- why not have him play more minutes? IF Basely is your
only shot creator besides Harden Why not play him more? He scored like 10 point in 12 minutes (Never mind how many shots he takes- he is at least a threat to drive or shoot.. If Shaun Livingston - whos a lanky lengthy player-
why not put KJ on him- to see how he does...

Capela- played under 10 minutes- Really? very confusing coach we have

 

Team is full of heartless losers. Dwight is a joke. Harden, play some ****ing Defense. Or at least try. Letting your guy blow by you while you half ass swipe at the ball is not defense.

This season cannot end fast enough. Big time shake ups incoming.

Haha it felt like scrimmage for Iggy, we're the embarrassment of the league.

 

Nah dude on the right is actually trying. Still haven't seen that from the Rockets (except Bev).

I'm wondering if the team isn't really all that lazy / no hustle....versus just very poor coaching resulting in many mistakes on the court. Especially on defense....

One of the things I really despise about this team, is the amount of talent vs lack of hustle & heart....but how much of that comes down to the lack of leadership / coaching....

 

Coaching can simply do so much. The problems the rockets have have just gone beyond that. The overhaul is needed. A new coach isn't going to make that much of a difference if the same overall roster is here. Both need to be addressed and likely will be.

 

Corey Brewer only played 9 minutes, was 0 - 1 from the field, and didn't attempt a 3 pointer.

Dwight can't even outplay Bogut anymore. Sad to see the decline in this area.
That said, Bogut and his antics pisses me the **** off. Moving screens, flopping, holding dwight by his jersey.
Why is every pass James attempts to Dwight, never a solid, crisp pass?? The dude makes decent passes to everyone else but him...

 

T-Wac: These guys are checked out man. No consistency. No leadership. If this is the type of effort (Harden)you're gonna give on defense, how can you expect the other guys to follow suit? It's not gonna happen.

Do we think game 85 is gonna be different than what we've seen the whole season. These guys are checked out. Dwight is gone. He's not a rim protector.

Windhorst: When I watch Howard & Harden, I'm like, what is going on? It's bad. James & Dwight don't want to play together. All of these guys should go on a retreat. They need trust exercises. Do you know some place in Houston they could go? These teams have interpersonal issues. The same bedrock principle of trust & belief affects harden & Howard like it affects Westbrook & Durant.

Where does Dwight go?

T-Wac: There's a number of teams that can use him. Charlotte can use him.

Windhorst: It's a matter of how much money he's willing to take. If he wants a 3-year deal, small list of teams. If he'll take a one-year contract on a discount, he'll have a long list of teams. I think New York.

 

When T-Mac is calling you out for leadership and consistency (validly I might add), you KNOW you've got problems.

Shaq(last night on TNT): [Harden] has no leadership skills. I know for a fact as the main player when you come to play, others will follow.

Beadle: This team is dysfunction at it's very best. There were moments where Dwight would have rather been anywhere else but at the basketball court. This is on Daryl Morey. You fired a coach. You're reaping what you sow.

Max: James Harden is capable of playing defense. We've seen it. He's capable of it. NBA players know you get paid on offense. He should be a great player. He's not because of that defensive effort.

Marcellus: Let's kill the hyperbole and exaggeration saying he's the face of failure with this team. Without Harden, who & what is this team? Nothing. Blame Daryl. He fired Kevin McHale after a 4-7 start. What are you doing? For an overachieving team last year, you fire a coach after 11 games? This is the most polarizing, most disconnected team I've ever seen constructed.

Max: You can't have your two best players and neither has the personality you need to win a championship.
